Also elf is a good option for vegans as they have many vegan items, I'm actually pretty sure all their stuff is vegan and they don't test their stuff on animals which is a must for me.

Pros:
-affordable
- available at most stores ( Target, Walmart, Dollar store, etc.)
- Decent brushes (Studio powder brush as well as some other eye shadow brushes)
- Decent tinted moisturizers and primers
- Facial whip, I really like to use this in the summer as a highlighter or all over for a dewy look.
Cons:
- Hit or miss (as mentioned)
-Eye shadows tend to be too powdery ( light ones) or have a lot of fallout ( darker pigmented ones)
- Face powders are chalky ( at least to me)
- eyes/lips/face stick the worst product in their line ( at least in my opinion) this was the one product I was hoping would be a hit but was definitely a miss.

For the line being so cheap it isn't that bad. I don't get too upset over buying "misses" considering the fact that most of their products range between 1$-3$. Now I read the reviews on here before I make the purchase just so I know what to expect.

i LOVE elf. Its really cheap but its very good! i used to be sephora but after buying elf products i dont think i will ever go back to it. They are great! I have pretty much everything on the website except lotions and bubble bath. Everything from lips to eyes and face, they are all great products.

The quality of ELF changes all the time, I've found. The packaging is really cheap, so sometimes you'll get something that falls apart or breaks quickly. I've only experienced that with their highlighting shimmer creme. When I bought it, there was a split in the packaging so the stuff just leaked out everywhere. Oh well, it was a dollar.
Other than that, I've had few issues with ELF. Their lip stains are amazing, I wear the lip stain in Heartbreaker every day. I also own three of their gel liners. They stay well but dry quickly. As for the brushes, they are amazing.
One of the things I wasn't so thrilled with was the beauty encyclopedia: face edition. I bought it a while ago in the normal black packaging, and I loved it. The concealer worked amazing and the blush and bronzer were very pigmented and stayed well. However, I moved and lost it somewhere in transit, so I bought another face edition beauty encyclopedia (the silver glitter holiday one). Not impressed. The concealer shades were different than the first one, most of them seemed like they were the exact same shade with a different undertone. Also, the glitter on the packaging falls off and I end up finding glitter specks on my face throughout the day. Ick. It truly is the herpes of crafts.

Anyway, ELF can be a hit or miss. But usually I've found that it is a hit.

Oh, I've also noticed that the Love&Beauty line of cosmetics from Forever21 are the exact same as ELF cosmetics. They're also cheap and the only thing I've been disappointed in from the Love&Beauty line is the mascara. Other than that, I love all of it.
It truly is the exact same as the ELF cosmetics. I've seen the same palettes, same packaging, everything. They even have the Flawless foundation.

For me ELF has been hit and miss as well.

Mineral Shadows- For me these are almost too sparkley and I love sparkle. If your not careful these blend out really far too.

Mineral Lipsticks- I ordered Natural Nymph and Runway Pink because so many people said they were amazing. I find them chalky when applied. I hardly ever wear them because of that.

Mineral Eyeliner- Goes on really smooth and covered nicely, but when I place it on my lower lash line it smears all over and runs.

Studio Cream Eyeliner- Love it. Lasts all Day! I was going to get MACs Fluidline until I came across this for $3.

Mineral Eyeshadow Primer- I thought this was horrible. I did a swatch in my hand and then applied their mineral shadow over the top and within 10 minutes it was all worn off. I'll stick with my UDPP.

$3 Blush- I have three colors and they work well. I find with the Coral you have to add a few layers to get good color pay off it for $1 that's fine!

$1 Brushes- I only have two of these and I love them! I haven't had hair loss with either of them. I have the Eye Shadow Brush and the Defining Eye Brush.

Studio Brush Collection- Just got this for Xmas (good coupon code got it for $15 with free shipping). So far the brushes are very good, and VERY soft. My favorite is the Powder Brush. I could rub it on my face all day. Also comes in a travel case!

Makeup Mist and Set Spray- Just got this the other day. Everyone complains of the smell but I couldn't smell anything (in bottle or once sprayed). I haven't actually worn it yet.

Hollywood Lash Set- The lashes are really fake looking. I cut them down to just be corner lashes and they still looked really fake.

Makeup Remover Cloths- Works really well, even at taking off eyeshadow over primer (UDPP).

Brush Shampoo- Works great!

@ Krista-- I recently purchased some elf eye shadow palettes at Target, because well they were 15% off the price. I have to say they are not bad. Of course the more "high end" makeup like Too Faced will be more pigmented, these palettes are great for beginners, or bases. The palettes have several colors to choose from and it just gives you a better idea of how to pair colors for when you do buy "more expensive" products. I hope this helps. :)

I like E.L.F. I think that if someone is just started out collecting makeup they should definitewly check out the brushes!

Shopping for ELF takes forever like 10 days. They use FedEx Smartpost which is really slow.

I like elf stuff :) I dont really order online, there's a Target close to me that sells Studio and Essential e.l.f products. Im pretty sure that I, personally, like the Studio (black colored packaging) and they have some really nice products! I love the Studio brushes and the cream liner, I have the black one and I've heard that the other colors aren't as good. But i am in love with it :D
The Essential lip products are SO NICE. They're actually very moisturizing, ya wouldnt thing but its true! :)
Overall, like other people hit and miss :) (for me mostly hit.)
