okay, so i have an issue with blending my shadow.. the colors all mesh together and it's terrible. i partly think it's because my eyelids are kind of small and i don't have a big enough canvas to see my blending. can anyone help me?

Do you mean that your colours get muddy? Try using a clean brush to blend your shadows and you could also try to using a downward motion, wiggling the brush slightly from side to side to blend two colours together.

I have small lids, too :)
I think 1 of the best tips I ever heard from a Make Up For Ever pro was to only move the brush in 1 direction (not back and forth, back and forth like you'd intuitively think) when you blend so that you don't muddy the colors!
Also, a better primer may help the colors stick better in general. I only blend the edges where colors meet, not the entire eye in one swoop. If you're not using a high quality blending brush, it may be that the brush is picking up too much of the color in general. You want a brush made for blending so that it moves color rather than picks it up!
Hope this helps ;)

Thank you for bringing this topic up. I have had the same problem but recently pushed myself to practice until I got it right. I take my time & the tips stated above here help :) I hear blending the lighter colors into the darker colors decreased the chance of it turning muddy. That seemed to work :p

If small eyes is the problem try using a smaller brush to blend, especially in the crease.

I agree with Jalaina, smaller brushes are better for smaller areas to work. Definitely use clean ones to avoid muddying up the colors. =]
