Pretty Color and Nice Moisturizing Balm
I purchased this tinted balm in 2 shades because I frequently wear tinted lip balm and also wanted to collect the packaging with Sofia Coppola’s signature on it. I have a fair complexion and Color 1 works great for me. These are pretty sheer so Color 3, which I purchased for Fall, also looks lovely. I was slightly worried it might be too dark on me, but figured I could sheer it out if needed. I can apply both of these straight from the tube without worry. The only reason I didn’t give these 5 stars is the wear time isn’t great. Compared to other tinted balms I own, this fades extremely quickly. Plus the box shows the tube has a 6 Month lifespan once open. I knew the price when I purchased these, but at this price point I expected the wear time to be at least comparable to similar tinted balms in my collection. That being said, if you want to treat yourself, the plush feeling on the lips is lovely, the packaging is nice and the colors are flattering. I saved and framed the boxes as a SC fan and am happy with my purchase.
Hydrating wash of color, perfect for daily wear or a more glamorous look. I purchased this with my Beautylish rewards points and am glad I did. Applies a smooth, sheen in a flattering color (Pillow Talk). The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is the product twists up, but you can’t twist it back down if you accidentally reveal too much product. Hourglass has a similar product with the same issue. I assume this is due to the soft texture of the product. That being said, it looks pretty on the lips and is a color that will flatter most. I featured it as one of my recommended lip products for Christmas 2022. If the way the product dispenses doesn’t bother you, this is worth buying. It is practical to throw in your bag like a lip balm, but provides enough color & shine to wear to a formal event. The Pillow Talk line is a win for me as I have enjoyed numerous offerings from the line.
Very hydrating, comfortable and multifunctional
When buying a luxury beauty product, I like to know that I can use it for more than one purpose. I received this as a sample from Beautylish with my recent order and have worn it daily since. It works well solo as a nourishing lip treatment (in place of lip balm), I love it most as a prep under lipstick though. This time of year people wear red lipstick and often matte colors can dehydrate the lips. This is almost like a primer before lipstick that allows for a smoother application. It also provides a lovely sheen over any lip product if you want to add a bit of shine. Formula is not sticky at all. Feels soft and comfortable.
Liquid Eyeshadow for the win!
I bought this kit for personal use, but could also see any makeup artist loving this collection (especially if they do bridal makeup). The powder eyeshadow palette is typical excellent JSC quality. His liquid lips are also a longtime favorite of mine. However the liquid shadows really stole the show. The kit provides 3 matte & three shimmery colors that can be layered & mixed with the palette or worn solo. The skincare does not irritate my sensitive skin but it’s neon green which is odd. The setting spray is ok, but I bought this for the color cosmetics. I will be using this kit a lot!
Dream Pop is a fun color for mascara especially on the lower lashes. The wand is slender making it easy to get close to the lash root. It isn’t the most voluminous mascara ever, but it lashes all day and feels weightless on I like pairing this with a black mascara on top lashes over the pillow talk liner on lower lashes.
Glowing! I am a big fan of the packaging here as well as the product. The applicator has a locking mechanism that turns to prevent product from leaking. A little goes a long way here, but this glow can be built up in or worn under foundation for a slightly more muted effect. Ideal for those with dry skin because the formula blends perfectly over a cream blush or tinted moisturizer.
Reminded me why I love JSC eyeshadow so much! If the yellow theme of the palette seems intimidating, I assure you all of the colors are very wearable. Somehow he keeps launching unique products that can still be used in a variety of ways. The shadow names are hilarious and the slim palette design makes for easy storage.
Perfect for foundation
I have owned this brush for a long time. It isn’t shaped like a typical foundation brush, but the results are stunning. Plus, the bristles are very easy to clean.
I use this to apply my liquid or cream foundation and find it works equally well with both. It also works for blending cream blush or bronzer and I can often do my entire face using only this brush and a couple eye brushes.
Formula of the foundation is beautiful, easy to blend and feels weightless on the skin. The color selection was not easy to choose from and I ended up with a shade a little darker than I needed. The jar is quite large, but the packaging doesn’t feel luxe. For example Monika Blunder’s Blunder Cover, while coming in a smaller jar - has a nice weight to it as it is glass versus plastic. The included puff works, but feels unnecessary and I prefer to apply with a brush. The really winner here is the powder! It is far better than any other luxury loose powder in my collection, the jar is nice and large and there is indeed a lovely blurring effect on the skin without leaving behind any white cast. I honestly bought the set primarily for the foundation, but have fallen in love with the powder. Great for mature skin and I believe after expanding the color range this complexion set will pose some real competition for other brands. Great job Wayne!
