leaves hair super smooth/soft/silky

this is the only "overnight repair treatment" i've ever used. so i can't compare it to anything. but it works great for me. i have long hair so i generally use 2-3 pumps. i always use it if my hair is slightly damp and i want to sleep in braids/twist. when i unravel them in the morning, i have smooth (no-frizz) curls/waves. the smell is awful in my opinion- i'm usually a fan of coconut, but this smells like straight up-natural coconut oil...it has a hint of fishy/saltiness??? but the good thing is, once it dries, you only smell the usual coconut fragrance. while i don't notice a "strengthening" in my strands, my hair is extremely soft and smooth after using this. it's like...puppy hair. idk, but i love the way it makes my hair feel. i've seen the prices range from $8-$12. but it lasts me a while so i think it's worth it.

great as a clarifying shampoo- not daily shampoo

i notice i'm the only one leaving a positive review here lol. i actually really like this shampoo. i DO NOT use it daily. it really does CLEAN your hair. if you do use it daily, your hair will be so stripped. i only use it AT MOST once a week after my hair has accumulated some buildup from other hair products. but i mean...isn't that why people buy clarifying shampoos? it does a really good job at removing that buildup. my hair is super clean and more bouncy afterwards. just be sure to use a conditioner afterwards. no biggie. i always use conditioner when i wash anyways. the fact that it's environmentally friendly is great (one of the main reasons i keep repurchasing) it smells like green apples :) but the smell doesn't really stay after you wash and dry if you're worried about that. it's cheap too!

this is a permanent item in my shower :)

this shampoo gives me more volume than any other volumizing shampoo i've tried so far. it makes you feel like your hair is naturally thick not pumped with product. the fact that it's sulfate free is a plus too! when i had colored hair, it helped keep the color in longer. if you wash your hair every other day, i'd suggest using a clarifying shampoo about every 5th or 6th wash, but it really doesn't build up like most hair products. the only downside is...you can't use it alone. ALWAYS use a conditioner with this shampoo. my hair is naturally smooth/shiny, but when i use this, it becomes a bit more frizzy (flyaways are definitely more visible), but as long as you apply a leave-in conditioner spray or heat protecant spray before blow drying, it's perfect. no problem. smells fresh/herbal/minty. i really like it.

great as a brush cleaner

i love the smell, but seeing as how it's made for infants, it's not strong enough to take on my hair. SO! i decided to try it on my make up brushes and face scrubber/bristle head. cleanses gently and it's cheap.

great hairbrush, horrible smell

first off, i've never owned or tried a mason pearson brush before so i can't compare the two. however, i CAN compare it to my other brushes (i've tried pretty much every form of brush) and i definitely like this one the best. i really feel like it brushes each strand out without snagging/breaking them. i also feel like using this brush gives me more volume and shine than other brushes. the one bad thing about this is the smell. it has such a strong plastic/chemical smell that i actually had to breathe through my mouth to avoid getting a headache when i used it. it smells like cancer- straight up. i tried washing the brush with soap and water to try and remove the smell, but barely touched it. i've had it for about 6 months now and the smell still lingers, but it's no where near as bad as when i first bought it.

discrete/works like magic

i really like these things. i'm generally retarded when it comes to bobby pins, but these are great. you just twist your hair into an updo, twist one pin in from the top of the bun (make sure you catch some hair directly from your scalp along with the 'bun hair') and do the same with the other pin, but from below the bun. it holds really well and doesn't pull on your roots as much as hair ties and clips do. you can't see it once it's in the bun either. the only downside is that it takes longer to use than your typical hair tie/clip.

affordable 'rescue' product

this stuff isn't bad for the price. it really helps if you don't have time to wash/style your hair in the morning. definitely takes away any 'oiliness" from your roots. it lasts a good while to...i'd say ~6 hours before you really feel like you need to scrub your head. probably not the best if you want it to last you from morning to bed time. also, it kind of-i don't want to use the word "clump"-but it makes it so you can't run your fingers/brush through your hair easily. while you can't SEE the product on your hair, you can definitely FEEL it. basically, if you spray it on don't expect to be able to re-style your hair later on, it'll look gross. also, the smell is citrusy. i don't mind it too much (it's a lot better than the batiste spray smells), but i can see others not liking the fragrance. i plan on repurchasing this though. it's only about $3 and really saves me in a pinch!

great!

great product. hasn't smudged on me, quick drying, comes with a great brush (surprisingly), lasts long, and is quite dark. i've had this product for a while and it still hasn't dried out. i've tried disinfecting it in the freezer over night (just in case) and it still maintains its full quality (whether the freezing works to kill all the possible germs in there or not- idk. don't have petri-dishes at home :/, but i haven't had any eye infections/styes :))

best top coat, but strong odor.

this is THE BEST fast drying top coat i've ever tried and i've tried OPI, china glaze, numerous sally's, and lil cheap ones. dries so fast, and rarely smudges my designs. however, i'm fairly certain this is poison in a bottle. not only is the smell likely to induce a migraine (just open a window), but there's really bad chemicals in it. idk how efficient our finger skin/nails are at absorbing these sort of things, but i am definitely on the look out for a less potent top coat. still worth the buy, but i'd reserve it's use to those nights you decide to paint your nails b4 bed. and eat some pomegranate/drink some tea afterwards...and into the next day to get rid of those free-radicals lolol ^^''''

chapstick/tinted balms are about the only lip products that work for me. when i heard that these lip butters were a cross b/w lipstick and tinted lip balm, i was curious. i've purchased peach parfait and...pink...truffle? i love them both. not crazy pigmented. very build-able. very moisturizing- i don't have to put on lip balm prior to application. peach parfait has a bit of gold shimmer/tiny glitter in it, but i actually like it. it's not obnoxious. the only down side is the amount of product given for the price you pay (not much) they should've given us at least 25% more product. most drug stores where i live sell them b/w $8-$9 (i find the cheapest ones at target ~$6.50) also, my peach parfait was not properly "attached" to it's base so it's easily pushed to the sides of the barrel and has already popped off T^T- pink truffle is also easily smushed. i think that as moisturizing as these butters are, the manufacturers should've stuck one of those twisty rods in the butters for more support/adherence. other than that, if it's on sale or you find it less than $7, i suggest buying it. i carry them w/me everywhere :)
