Will icing it make it smaller? I'm afraid if I do that it'll spread :/

I would take some Advil as directed. Not only is it a pain reliever and reduces swelling, its also an anti-inflammatory & will help speed up recovery. And please don't take any more than directed on the label.

Valacyclovir/Acyclovir (brand name: Valtrex) is fantastic at reducing outbreak severity and frequency. However, since you have an event tomorrow and the outbreak is already happening, use a cold compress like Jacqlyn said and try to keep it clean. Abreva sells little patches that can cover a cold sore that allow you to put makeup over it without disturbing the sore. I think a pack of them is like $10 at the supermarket (maybe less since they've been out for a while now). Worth looking into if you want to wear makeup tomorrow.

Baking soda is extremely abrasive, why on earth would you put that on an open wound?? You might as well try sand paper it off if you're that masochistic. I mean Jesus, do people even stop to think about the advice they are giving, or do they just pull random shit out of the pantry and tell others to rub it on their face? Pardon my language, but this forum astounds me sometimes.

I can't even... Just why?? Horseradish? If I facepalm any harder I will fracture my skull.
