I've never used this particular cream but I do use AHA in my skincare routine and yes it is great for darker skintones that are oily and trying to fade scars plus deal with active acne. If this is your first time ever using AHA I advise for you to tread carefully with this as too much of a good thing can be damaging. You will experience some tingling after intial application that is ok. It will subside after 30 minutes. Now if if feels like uncomfortable burning then immediately rinse off. Use every other evening till your skin become acclimated then after about a month of use you should be able to switch over the every night. Be sure to wear a moisturizing spf of at least 30 so you don't reverse your positive results plus to protect your skin.

I agree with Shelley. AHA is powerful stuff that needs a light hand. It often does not fare well with sensitive skin. I wouldn't combine it with any retinoid products either...just counter it with a soothing lotion like CeraVe AM. It has SPF and is very gentle.
