You can change how the curls will turn out. if I'm not mistaken, I believe Symone uses them & her curls have never looked bad. so I'd ask her :)

Your rod size and how far you roll up are going to set your curl style. I have really fat flexi rods, jumbo foam rollers and use those for wet sets. I use a flat iron occasionally for loose, neat curls, but hot rollers are my favorite.

I have naturally curly hair. but you can always use bendy rollers for that look. when I straighten my hair and put them on it looks like that ^ I bought a pack of 10 for 1.50$ on ebay. its a cheaper alternative (you can learn how on ebay, very easy) you just need to practice. and you can always touch up with your curler.
