Okay so the picture below is what I want my hair colour to be. I can see it's lighter at the top and then goes darker. I don't want my hair to be exactly like this meaning if it's slightly darker or lighter I wouldn't mind.
Was thinking or buying two hair dyes one lighter for the top and one darker for the bottom: (like a shade darker so they will go nicely together) so doing like an ombré effect with it then adding darker highlights/low lights throughout or something.
Any ideas would be great! I'll be buying the hair dye tomorrow :D
Thankyou xx

Also I forgot to put would you go for more of a red or a purple?

I don't know much about colouring hair at home, but between red and purple, red tends to last longer and show up easier apparently :)

I think the actual colour in that picture is stunning though

Uhm... I know you said going to a hairdresser isn't happening but this is the type of look you can seriously mess up unless you have some serious experience in hair dying. I would suggest buying the two different dyes and applying them. Depending on how dark your hair is already you might need to bleach the part you want lighter. But since these are both darker colors you should be fine.

I've been dyeing my hair for 6-7 years now and I don't trust hair dressers with my hair they always muck it up! And my hair is actually ombré at the moment dark brown and red on the bottom but it has faded abit. Was thinking live xxl hair colour but not sure which shades.

Its going to be hard to not have a line of demarkation. you will have to overlap it some...you may be better off dying it the top color first, don't put it on end. then do bottom, and overlap top color up for ombre look. I would do like a heavy highlight in middle, and I wouldn't let it sit quite as long as very bottom.

That's the thing I was worrying about having a line but I was thinking putting the first colour all over and then ombré with the second then doing highlights / lowlights throughout...
