Hey ladies! I really like my hair flat ironed, but I have no idea how to do it myself. I can't see the back so I get all mad and It always ends up looking like a big poof. Please help me. I don't want to spend $45 every few days to keep going to the salon.

I recommend blow drying it straight then doing a quick run (swipe and go) on the areas that might or do need it.

What kind of flat iron do you have? when I first started straightening my hair it was always a poofy mess I had to somewhat train it to go flat. But I also used a better quality flat iron. I was using the Amica, but now I have one I bought from target for only $15 and it works just as well as my old $100 one. The kind I use now is called Remington, I always buy the smaller width ones because I use it to curl my hair as well. I would also recommend a heat protectant, and you could also try the John Frieda 3 day straight before you flat iron.. hope I helped! :)

Divide your hair in two parts on the back, and work in sections.. It's an habitude to get :p at first I burned my hands often cause I didn't knew how to do it, but it really helps when I divide my hair ^^

Use before flat ironing, a heat protector spray. I agree with layering your hair, it gives it a better straight.

I got my herstyler 200$ flatiron on amazon for 25$.. If you spray heat protectant, then brush it out, and straighten hair in layers I notice if I do that I barely have to sit there forever and straighten every piece , I just glide it through really quick and it gives me the most silkiest straight hair for a long time even the next day.. And I have wavy thick hair.

Sections and use a handheld mirror to see the back of your head! Just turn around hold the handheld facing you and look into big mirror behind you.

Ximena, you need to make your own thread for this.
