By the looks of it it seems to be a cold sore and for an easy at home remedy to clear it up quick I suggest mixing a bit of Vaseline and tee tree oil and then apply it to the cold sore it works real quick any who hope I could help :D

Looks kinda similar to a cold sore to me..there are an abundance over OTC (over the counter) meds you can get for treatment though! They're inexpensive too. No worries!

Yes that is definitely a cold sore. And you caught it kinda late so now it will take at least a week to go away, no matter what you put on it. But still Abreva is a must.

Ugh I've got one too! Usually I can catch it before it blisters and take my medicine (the tingle gives it away) but it popped up while I was asleep yesterday. Tricky virus. :(

Abreva will help with the severity and alleviating itching. Otherwise just keep it clean and don't wear any products on it. Treat it like an open wound (it technically is, especially once it scabs).

DO NOT use Vaseline. You will seal bacteria on the wound as well as prevent the blisters from draining, inviting a secondary opportunistic skin infection.

Definitely no Vaseline.

Yaya cold sores are herpes simplex 1 which is very common,90 percent of people get them atleast once ,not to be confused with herpes simplex 2 genital herpes,so really no need for the Ughhhhhh ,Google would have answered that for you.

Yep, one of the many types of herpes virus. It is estimated that over 90% of adults in the US have the infection; most are first infected as children from family members (those annoying kisses from Aunt Gertrude? Yep, they left a lifelong "friend" in your nerves).

The virus lives in the nerves under the skin, and is dormant most of the time. Some people get outbreaks, others don't. Outbreaks can be triggered by stress, poor hygiene, hormone fluctuations, illness, trauma (scrapes/cuts, burns), or happen randomly. If you get outbreaks frequently, talk to your doctor about Valtrex (generic: valacyclovir or acyclovir). Taken at the first sign of an outbreak--the giveaway tingling-- it can prevent most or all of the blisters from popping up.

Don't kiss anyone or share drinks or cosmetics. Wash your hands if you touch it. Never touch your eyes or other mucous membranes (e.g. your nose) because you can self-infect and trust me, herpes of the eye is GROSS and you don't want that. Even when you aren't having an outbreak, don't share cosmetics with anyone. Sanitize your makeup/brushes/sponges. Be careful not to expose the sore or the healing skin when it is over to the sun, as it can scar.

Even when you aren't having an outbreak, it is possible to infect others. Viral shedding is contagious, happens randomly, and has no symptoms. It is impossible to tell when you are or are not infectious, so always assume that you are. I don't know how old you are, but always inform your partners when you are in a relationship and use protection for any oral contact with their body (it is possible to infect the genitals with oral herpes).

There is no cure for any type of herpes. Prescription antivirals like Valtrex can manage or prevent outbreaks. Over the counter medicines like Abreva can help with symptoms during an outbreak. There is no scientific evidence that shows any link between lysine supplements and herpes, so don't waste your money.

That's the crash course on having cold sores!

I've been getting outbreaks for almost twenty years, so I've tried everything and researched this virus to death. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I was infected at five years old when playing with some makeup a friend's relative gave us for dress-up. ALWAYS SANITIZE YOUR MAKEUP IF YOU'RE GOING TO SHARE, and DON't share if you know that you are infected. Seriously. Heed my warning, because these outbreaks are annoying and "ain't nobody got time fo that."

Ohh so you can get it from makeup ,THANK YOU for the info maybe people will be more careful when trying makeup on in stores now.

Makeup testers in the store are disgusting... There's all kinds of nasties in testers: E. coli, Staph., Herpes, impetego, ringworm... If you MUST swatch a tester, do it on your hand then wash it asap with alcohol. Better to ask the salesperson (if you can find them) to sanitize the tester for you. It makes me ill when I see someone use a tester directly on their face...

All of he above said is true..BUT herpes does not live long outside of the host so the incidence of contracting it from an inanimate object is not impossible, but unlikely. It dies in the air after a short period of time. Literally, you would have to use someone's lipstick IMMEDIATELY after they did to contract it if they happened to be infected. Nonetheless, I don't suggest using testers AT ALL.
