A light unscented moisturizer. I reapply every hour, just a light layer depending on how bad it is.

It sounds weird but really works. soak a cloth in milk and then lay it on your sunburn and resosk the cloth as needed the burn will go away a lot quicker than the redness but it will help the redness go down some too.

Yup, I concur with the aloe vera. if you don't have any, you can use milk, oatmeal, or yogurt and others suggested. You can also just use cold water and ice like the milk compress if you don't want to waste your milk! Anything cooling and soothing will help. Hope you feel better soon!

Tossing in another vote for Aloe Vera Gel. Definitely don't put makeup on top of it!

Using a strong black tea will help turn the burn into a tan (if you're capable of tanning). Something like Earl Grey or English Breakfast. Brew it strong and cool it in the fridge, then make compresses and apply to the burns. The tannins in the tea will help.

Aloe and a chamomile salve are what I use.
