Are you a VIB? I just reached VIB status for 2013. Is it worth it for the $350 minimum? I couldn't beleive I spent that much there this last year, I probably won't again this year but if the perks are really worth it then I would make a point of buying gifts etc there in order to maintain the VIB status.

I thought it was $500?

I think it is $500...I get special coupons...access to special invite only events at the store...special luxury sized samples...better promos on the website...and my favorite is I get to buy products before they are released to the public
I think it's worth it...but I don't spend more just to maintain my VIB status...I just like to spend my "allowance" on cosmetics

Points and spent total are different. You have to have $350 spend total in a calendar year, which resets to 0 each January. Points roll over each year. In the welcome package I got a coupon for 10% off my next purchase, a free 45 min makeover, a little mirror and a new silver card. There are supposed to be extra events for VIB members, but i'm not sure if it's really worth it.

As far as the savings it's not that much of a difference...it just gives you free stuff and exclusive events and you can call the beauty concierge which is pretty cool... I don't really save much because even when I have coupons it means I can buy more items lol

I just got an email stating I'm not a VIB. So are you saying you have to spend $350 a year to maintain?? I can easily do that lol

I thought you had to spend &500 but it might be 350...in one calendar year...but it's good for the remainder of the year you qualify and the following year

Dec 23, 2012

Yes it's one point for every dollar spent...but I think it may be $500 not $350...I'm not sure

Its $350 in one calender year in order to become a VIB with Sephora. It may seem like "a lot" but , but its program is for loyal clients that do not have a problem spending the much needed price for their favorite products. Think; quality over quantity... So once you reach the VIB level, you are part of an exclusive club that gives you free makeovers, invites to special events, product launches, coupons, larger sample sized items, first dibbs on items/products, and a ton of other things. So it really is worth it if you think of it.

Thanks for your opinions everyone. I'm glad I got it for this year. I guess I'll see how it goes not sure yet if I will "try" to spend 350 next year. I live in Canada and every item at the sephora here is at least 10% more expensive. We also don't get as good shopping deals. So I usually shop at the Seattle store when I go down there a few times a year. Looking forward the the makeover though! I'm a sucker for buying all the products they use!

I don't know if you guys have heard of ebates?? It's a website where you earn cash back in purchases. You get 8% back from Sephora when you order online. So you go to the ebates website and then search for Sephora, and then get redirected to the sephora website and place your order that way to earn $ back. There are so many other stores that offer cash back skdo
