Suppose there’s this party you’ve been looking forward to and you wake up that morning to find that you’ve got a pimple on your face. A really big one!

Does the thought scare you? Perhaps this has happened to you a gazillion times already. Maybe each time you had an outbreak you had wished you were some hot celebrity who had the world at her feet and all the money so you could spend on expensive skin treatments and cosmetics to look your best.

Maybe your favorite celeb is a fan of creams like the KNU Anti Aging Michael Todd Face Lift cream. If she isn’t, then her pictures may make you believe that she has flawless skin just because the photographer had A-level Photoshop skills.

So what can you do to look like a celebrity? Sure, make-up helps. But to make your skin glow from within, you need to give the best to yourself.

**Eat Healthy**

What you eat will show on your skin. You obviously know that too much of fried food is bad. Instead of giving you a list of what not to eat, here’s what you should eat in addition to drinking lots and lots of water.

1) Tropical fruits such as pineapple, kiwi, papaya, guava, etc. are rich in vitamin C which is an anti-oxidant and helps your skin produce more collagen.

2) Broccoli is rich in anti-oxidants and vitamins C and E. This veggie keeps your skin healthy, and the vitamin E in it offers added protection from harmful UV rays.

3) Another veggie that can protect and repair your skin is carrot. Munch on some raw carrots, add them to salads or roast them to get all the benefits of the anti-oxidant beta carotene in them.

4) Nuts such as almonds, macadamia nuts, and walnuts are rich in vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids. Eat them in moderation for glowing skin. Pumpkin seeds are rich in zinc and can do wonders for your skin by promoting skin cell renewal and collagen production.

5) Rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids include fish such as salmon, mackerel, herring, anchovies and sardines. Omega-3 fats keep the skin hydrated, fight skin inflammation, and fortify the membranes of your skin cells thereby protecting skin from sun damage. Avoid fried fish though; poach, grill, or bake it.

6) The anti-oxidant mineral- selenium, increases your skin's elasticity, and protects it from environmental damage. You can get your daily dose of selenium from whole grain breads and pastas.

**Protect Your Skin**

While eating healthy will help your skin from within, it is necessary to protect it from the outside just as much.

1) Whenever you step out in the sun, always make sure to wear sunscreen. Sun rays account for most of the wrinkles on a person’s face. Sunscreen is just as necessary in the winter months as it is in the summer. Look for sunscreens that offer protection from both UVA and UVB rays.

2) Keep your sunglasses handy at all times. Squinting in the sun will create lines which you’ll regret later in life.

3) Several women go to bed with their make-up on. If you think doing so is a great idea, think again. Not only does make-up clog skin pores but it can make your skin excessively dry. Quite many make-up products contain sugar-type molecules that can harbor bacteria and allow them to grow on your skin while you think you're getting your beauty sleep.

4) If you’re lazy enough to not clean your make-up brushes and applicators regularly, you may as well go around doing nothing for flawless skin. Dirt and bacteria collect on make-up brushes and can lead to breakouts when you're least expecting them.

5) Avoid hot showers no matter how good they feel. The heat strips your skin off its essential oils and your skin needs to repair itself every time. And remember, your skin's ability to repair itself quickly decreases as you age.

**Don’t Hide Wrinkles, Deal with Them**

If your skin has begun to show signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles, accept the fact that your efforts at trying to hide them by slathering on truck loads of foundation won’t work. Too much foundation will make your skin look cakey. Moreover, foundation will show your wrinkles even more.

If you’re looking for something that will take care of the wrinkles, puffy bags and the dark circles under your eyes, try good anti-aging products such as the KNU Anti Aging Michael Todd range. With organic ingredients that are proven to work, you will definitely have your youthful and glowing skin back.

And yes, don’t forget to smile; that’s what makes you beautiful!
