Ugh these stupid bugs. I got bit on the face, and usually the bites get bigger the next day..is there anyway I can prevent the swelling? I usually use (gross but) saliva and salt, it's a trick my nana taught me and it's always helped but I don't really want to use salt on my face, especially over night...lol. Help!

Using some Pawpaw ointment on the spot overnight might help :)

What doctors recommend is to clean it with soap (your regular face wash maybe) and ice it if it's irritated.

Put 1 or 2 drops of lavender oil on it. I've had so many bad bug bites and this really helps to speed up the recovery process for me and helps a little with the itch as well.

Ugh I feel yah Renay! Mosquitos love my face and yes the swelling looks horrible the next day. I usually get bitten right under my eye so it looks like someone punched me the next day. lol. So, Besides the hydrocortisone that I usually apply several times a day, I put a cold spoon in the freezer for a few mimutes and placed it on top of the bit and it helped a lot!

That happens to me ALL the time! I was suggested here on BL to wear an eye mask at night (& maybe spray the exterior with a natural bug spray) because they always seem to bite my eyelids and get me all swollen! Some extra advice, use a plug-in anti mosquito appliance to prevent them from biting in the first place.
