Hey girlys
I went to get a hair cut and asked the stylist about brushing your hair when its wet she said it isnt bad to brush your hair when it wet she said brushing it when its dry is damaging but I heard the other way around so which is true?

Your hair is most fragile wet. Snags, snaps and tangles can be safely avoided using a leave-in conditioner and a brush made specifically for wet hair..such as The Wet Brush. Sally, Walmart and Target all carry it for around $7. At least that's how much I paid for mine.
That aside, I personally wouldn't continue to see a stylist that didn't possess what I consider to be basic knowledge acquired in beauty school. :/

I disagree that it is a waste of money.
First off, most normal brushes cost the same. It's not like you are making a dent in your pocket.
Secondly, I waited until my paddle brush broke because I too was hesitant on the product. I used my fingers and a wide toothed comb for YEARS - so it's not something new to me.
I condition my hair EVERYDAY in the shower. It is the only way to style my hair. And I have to say that I thought the wet brush was another gimmick. I am used to pulling out tennis ball sizes of hair.
However, I get very little fall out with the wet brush. ( For information, I have very curly, dominican hair. My hair is more of an afro than it is curly. )
Here is how the wet brush works;
The bristles in the wet brush are thin, long and flexible.
Unlike a normal brush, when you brush your hair using a wet brush, the bristles FLOW with your hair instead of staying in place and going against them. This is the 'science' behind it.
Now - I personally think brushing your hair with the wet brush when it is dry is the same thing as any other brush. But when brushing your hair when it's wet? The results definitely speak for itself.
