I've been using coconut oil to remove my makeup for about a week now. I massage the oil on my face and wipe it away with a damp cotton round. Then, I go about my business at home, and cleanse and moisturize using my regular products right before I go to bed.

Is this routine OK? I've heard coconut oil has a tendency to clog pores. But I'm not leaving it overnight though. Only to remove makeup and with some residue for a few hours tops. Will this clog my pores?

Some people actually use coconut oil as a moisturizer so you should be fine. Natural oils are actually very good for the skin. Everyone's skin is different but generally I don't hear too much about coconut oil clogging pores. I think as long as you're washing your face on a regular basis you'll be fine. If you just never washed your face and kept applying more day after day then I think you'd have a problem lol. But as is I think you're okay :) you could also exfoliate with a scrub once or twice a week just to be safe if you feel like your skin is congested. It will help get rid of any buildup. But if your skin feels fine then I'd say keep doing what you're doing.

You're just fine with your current routine. I use coconut oil from time to time to remove makeup and then follow up with my regular cleanser. And I use it at night sometimes as a moisturizer...especially over my nighttime serum to really lock in all the benefits. I've experienced no clogged pores and I have oily/combo skin. As Caitlin mentioned...as long as you stay on top of your exfoliating you will be fine. :)

Coconut Oil is Moderately Comedogenic ( 3/5 scale ), so if you are acne prone you can try using a oil that is non comedogenic altogether if you are concerned or still battling with acne. ☺

Thank you very much for your inputs! I'll stick to my coconut oil until I use it up, then maybe switch to another oil. Thanks again :)
