I'm going to an engagement party next weekend and I'm going to be wearing this dress. How should I do my makeup?

You know, my initial reaction is a red lip but I feel like that's so... Typical? Beautiful none the less. I think it would be nice with a darker lip like a maroon or plum shade. Instigator or Diva from MAC as example shades if you wanna look them up. That lip with a darker brown natural or smokey eye? The pattern is so loud I would lean toward a quieter, but still interesting to look at, face. No offense will be taken if you don't like my suggestions :)
