You might want a vitamin e cream or scar gel. The body shop has an excellent line of vitamin e products (facial washes included) and Mederma is a great scar gel.

Thing you'll want to look for while dealing with hyperpigmentation are dark spot correctors, creams with hydroquinone (Murad has a trial kit you can get at ulta for $15), or vitamin c serums (Paula's choice and ole henriksen have some) , and always use a broad spectrum SPF.

I really don't see why it would hurt but maybe test it just to make sure it doesn't irritate your skin.

The Murad Easential C cleanser is supposed to be good...but I like the Murad calming cleanser to help with redness. Not quite hyperpigmentation--but I like it a lot. Very gentle and great for dry skin. It's $30, but lasts MONTHS.
