I don't think foundation would make the shadow stay longer but I think in once heard someone say it makes the color of your eyeshadow pop more

I have tried using foundation for a primer and I find that it doesn't work as well. However, if you don't have a eye primer in hand, or don't want to purchase one right now, I find that concealer could be used to smooth the skin. As it's got a thicker consistency than foundation, and the eyeshadow kind of "sets it in place" it shouldn't budge so much. Liquid concealers like Mac prolong concealer works best...
Overall, I really just say, stick to an eye primer :)
take care beautiful and I hope my advice has helped you in anyway : )

I usually do this actually xD I use revlon colorstay so its pretty good at staying in place and holding powder products :) I actually find that its better than some primers I've tried! Haha.

It really depends on the foundation you're using though :p.

To make a DIY one, you can mix concealer, bb cream, and flour together and it will work great. But the concealer has to be stick.

Concealer is better than foundation to make your eye-makeup stay longer:)
But I have noticed that for me the best thing I can do for my eye-makeup is to use eyeshadow sticks:)

Eye primers usually set to a more matte finish than foundation. This is why it holds better. A foundation is mostly made to mimic skin, which means to some extent, it retains some sort of dewiness. Using a dewy product on your eyelid, which normally produces oil as is, will not help your eye makeup stay on longer. Most matte foundations are also very heavy on the eyelid as they are made for very oily skin. Your eyelid is a very sensitive area so I would say to just use a regular eye primer instead. Concealers would work normally if they were made for the undereye area.

Concealers are better eye primers I use a very light concealer as eyeshadow primer everytime I do my makeup.
