What I do is pull my hair up straighten it but kind of twist at the root. sorry I don't know if I explained it good?

With a flat iron after I've straighten all the bottom. I'll take maybe the 1st n 2nd top layers and flip them in the opposite direction and iron in that direction then drop the hair. (If that makes sense)
You could always use a teasing comb and hairspray or dry shampoo or a root lifter also. :)

Using a good product such as Blow Pro Blow Up Root Lifter directly on roots then blowdrying straight up or in opposite direction helps a lot.
