Can you use coco butter for a tattoo got it on the 24th.

I wouldn't. I used aquaphor on mine for the first two weeks, because it's heavy and moisturizing, but breathable.

I actually use my face lotion since it has SPF in it.

Well, it's a process. For the first two weeks, keep it moisturized with aquaphor until the flaking stops.
After that, I like lubriderm to keep it moisturized.
I only use sunscreen on it when it's going to be in the sun, and for that I like the Neutrogena Clear Skin sunscreen line.

I like aquaphor also, it makes all my tattoos feel a million times better especially when I got my neck done! Sandra I use lubriderm on my face and I love it so I say give it a try!

I personally used an antiseptic ointment on my tattoo until it completely stopped peeling & my tattoo healed perfectly c: probably the best out of all my friends, lol.

It will burn! I have a bunch of very large tattoos, the one on my side I had run out of aquaphor so I tried to use my cocoa butter from when I was pregnant..huge fail. It burned so bad! Stray from that any no scented lotion/cream will do wonders. They make a lotion and spray for newer tattoos they sell it at all shops :) they also have a foam wash for it

NO!! I'm an artist myself, so I'll give you my professional opinion.
Use a thin layer of water based ointment for the first 2-3 days then switch to an UNSCENTED lotion (I use lubriderm daily moisture) 👍
Always remember to wash your tattoo with antibacterial soap and water 1-3 times per day or as often as you can.
Everyone heals at different rates, but with proper care you should be fully healed in 1-2 weeks ☺️

@Sandra, if it works then I see no problem with using it, but for myself I know it would break me out
