I have pretty fair skin and freckles, it's the ginger in me haha.
When I wash my face my eyes get these huge dark red circles. they go away eventually, leaving behind puffy skin toned bags. any advice on how to reduce/cease redness? its super embarrassing. any one have a opinion about it being just sensitive skin, or...
also, I have pretty dry skin. especially bad in the winter. I'll even get little white patches around the surrounding part of my nose/mouth. and when I wear make up, it looks all cracked (especially on my actual nose). I use exfoliating scrubs along with moisturizer creams/face washes.
Maybe I'm not using them correctly or I have the wrong kind?
Thanks!!(:

I have fair skin and after I wash my face, it looks so bad, it gets so red and looks like I have acne everywhere (even though) I don't, but it usually goes away after about ten minutes. Idk how long yours last? But I really have no way of telling you how to make it disappear. I do use CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and it is very creamy/gentle. You could just be allergic to what you are using though since it is leaving the puffiness. I would try some new cleansers...

Any recomendations on. cleansers?

St.Ives is horrrrrrrrible for your skin. And I used to use it. It actually creates micro cuts that tear your skin, you may not tell a difference now, but its bad in the long run. As for cleansers, CeraVe (I love it more than Cetaphil and I used that for years) that I mentioned earlier. And The Body Shop or Boscia are good too.

As for moisturizer's, I love CeraVe's Moisturizing Lotion (morning) and the Moisturizing Cream (nighttime)

It could also be your makeup remover causing problems, so I would try something else for sure. I really like Visine Makeup Remover Wipes, they are very gentle (they are usually where the contact and eye drops are @ the store).

Well I'm glad I know that about st ives!
What order should I apply the products in?
If that even matters??

Exfoliate only a few times a week (I only do this because I have sensitive skin like you)
1- Remove Makeup
2- Cleanser
3- Toner (this can really help with Redness, I like Murad, Neutrogena, Witch Hazel, or Seabreeze Sensitive
4- Moisturizer
And when you do exfoliate, I would do that before the cleanser and then use a cleanser after. As far as scrubs go, I really like Lush products

Buy moisturizer that comes in a tub! Cream moisturizer works way better! I used cetaphil when I was on accutane (when you're on this medication you produce NO oils) and I experienced only slight dryness! Also look into purchasing vitamin E tablets from your pharmacy! They aren't that expensive and always always help a lot. Also if this affects your lips as well, carry around Vaseline :) they make very cute tiny ones now for about 3 dollars!

I've been hearing cetaphil a lot, is it expensive??
Feb 28, 2014

Cetaphil is not expensive and it works good, I used it for years but I switched to CeraVe a few months ago and I loveeee it. I felt like Cetaphil just wasn't cutting it and drying me out, but since I've switch my skin hasn't been nearly as dry!

Can you feel any residue/oil on your face after using it? thats my bigggggest pet peeve, I hate that film left over haha
I had bought a Ponds one, Only because it was travel sized and cute) and it felt nice... at first... then it was like it melted and left that oily/slimy/shiny feeling. gross!

Nope, it feels great; a lot of places like cvs though have travel sizes you can try out first. But its very creamy and gentle not sticky and gross lol.

Haha yaaay! I used to use an olay one that was light pink and the moisturizer itself was also very light... tooo light.

But when you first try the moisturizer (CeraVe) it doesn't really feel like its working? If that makes sense but after the next day my skin looked and felt a thousand times better. CeraVe all the way for me!
