I am looking to purchase an entirely new beauty regimen (face wash, moisturizer, anti-aging, exfoliator, foundation, etc). I have fairly sensitive skin (dry) in the winter, but the rest of the time my face is normal/oily. I need advice on what brands are actually good for controlling oil but aren't too harsh.
Basically, I want advice for a group of products (even if they are a little pricey) on what will make my skin look great and maybe even improve it.

I'm such a fan of Malin + Goetz. It's a pared-down routine of products that focus on clean without stripping, and there's good science behind the largely natural ingredients.
The Grapefruit Face Wash is gentle, pH balancing, antibacterial (to stop breakouts before they even start) and requires no toner afterward.
The Rice Bran Eye Cream contains hyaluronic acid (attracts moisture from the air) and rice bran to inprove circulation.
The Vitamin E Face Moisturizer is oil-free, does a great job of all-day hydrating.

I think that's kind of difficult to do because your skin can react certain ways to all of the products if you're trying to overhaul everything at once. I think your safest bet is to go to a counter (one that you preferably really interested in) and let them know what your plan is. They can give you samples of the products so you can see if they work with your skin. That way you don't shell out a bunch of money for products that end up not working on your skin. Also, testing on your hand sometimes is a safer bet than on your face. It will prevent you from having a reaction or a breakout on your face.

I agree with what Jasmine has to say. Skin is so unique that it's hard to recommend for.
I've had good luck with Juice Beauty & Korres.. you can find both at Sephora.

I recommend going to beautypedia.com! I also redid my whole skincare routine recently and this site helped me pick out which products would be actually beneficial and which ones would just be a waste of money. Everything is done by a scientific point of view, so there is no bias on products :)

I used to think that $$$$$ meant better products. But HALLELUJAH for this site, and Soma S.

That is her blog and why CeraVe is --- hands down --- the best skin care line ever!
Her blog is similar to my story. Horrible acne, horrible cystic acne, tried all these things -- higher end products, informercial products (Proactiv), drug store produts... yadda yadda yadda.
Anywhoo... CeraVe is my holy grail skin care line! It's a plus that it's easily to get (CVS, Target, Walgreens, etc.)
