I'm thinking of switching my blog over to blogger from wordpress. The only reason why I didn't use blogger in the first place was bc it was giving me problems but now its not. Has anyone ever switched their blog over? I would copy every post over, but i would loose all my comments...My blog is still new so its not like I have a lot of followers yet. hmm..let me know if anyone has done this

i recently switched from blogger to wordpress and i reccomend wordpress highly. i didn't copy everything over since i figured that would be a lot of hassle. i posted a link on my blogger to my new wordpress site. so, that way, anyone that finds my old blog can see in big letters to click the link and visit the new one.

I chose wordpress b/c of the $$$ earning potential from it. Also, since Google owns Blogger, they also own your content. I did not want that. Blogger does appear simpler, but in the long run (based on my goals) wordpress will be more beneficial. Just do your research so you can make an educated decision on what is best for you.

I use wordpress.com (didn't know there was a .org) I know this is probably aggravating for you, but I will help you as much as I can. During my lunch I will email you the step by step for the adsense ads. Don't give up yet.

If your blog is still new, just do a simple import.
Though I'd consider what you see long term for your blog, as a self-hosted wordpress (org) blog gives you a lot more options IMO.

Re-call on my last msg Kelly. Just checked my wordpress installation info and it is wordpress.ORG, not .com. My domain is a .com. All of thie computer terminology is new for me. Do you have wordpress.com or .org??

Have you guys swapped all of your stuff over to wordpress or blogger recently? bc I tried and tried and apparently blogger doesn't support wordpress so it wont let me import all my content over to blogger :( If anyone knows how to do this please let me know.
I dont mind copying and pasting all my posts over but I'd rather not loose my comments. and my blog is still new

Thanks Kim!!!!!! :) wordpress. org is different from wordpress.com, you have to pay for .org but I guess it lets you customize a lot of things and you can install plug-ins unlike .com

@Kelly - I think you should go ahead and switch to blogger so you can have piece of mind. I paid for my domain name with godaddy.com ($15 every 2 yrs) and pd for my hosting with hostgator.com ($10/mo). The only reason I have the ads on my blog is because I want it to be monetized and I have other long term goals for what I want to use the blog for which include the ability to sell products. You may not have the same goal. I have seen a lot of blogs from the beauties here and none of them are monetized. Sooooo...I think if you switch, you can see which one fits your needs. Good luck hun.
