I recently quit using my Nuva Ring birth control because it was giving me migraines. It's been a month since I've stopped it, and I have been getting ridiculous hormonal breakouts.

What do you find works for hormonal breakouts? I'm getting pretty desperate, I feel like I'm in high school again =(

I'm combination oily skin and acne prone. Ive also noticed that i break out a lot on my chin and I always get it the worst there so I think part of it is to do w/ hormones, now I'm still on my BC, but my acne still gets a lil out of hand sometimes. For me I've foun that having a good routine twice a day evryday makes a huuuuge difference. I didn't start getting into cleaning my face until I pretty much got out of high school. For breakouts I rly like Mario Badescu's Drying Cream. It's kind of a concealerish color so when u put it on it helps to hide ur breakouts but for me i put this on at night and a huge pimple will pretty be much nothing the next morning. I haven't tried it but I've heard good things about Mario badescu's drying lotion as well. Hope this helps :P

Hi britt! I'm the same, I had a very hard time with hormonal breakouts on the pill and eventually had to stop using it because it got that bad! When i first went off it, it started to clear up but i still get hormonal breakouts which is really irritating! I Hate being a girl sometimes lol
I have a post on my blog with some tips that i came across during this whole process:

I thought birth control was supposed to help with acne breakouts?

Some forms of birth control have progestin, which can actually make it worse! Tricky little buggers, these birth control pills.

I used to get bad hormonal breakouts but my birth control helped it a lot. I still get a pimple or two around that time, but I just make sure to take extra good care of my face the week before and keep some pimple healing products handy

SPIRONOLACTONE. It's a miracle worker. It's specifically for hormonal acne. It take a while to kick in, but once it does, it's amazing! I've been on the medicine since July and I haven't had a cystic pimple since September!
