I've just barely launched my freelancing make-up services, and wondered, how do you keep powders, eyeshadows, liquid eyeliners, and such sanitary from person to person? I have not taken any classes or anything, but I am very sanitary and take it very seriously to make sure everything is extremely clean for each new client, so any advice would be great. Thank you.

You can use a fine mister bottle, pour rubbing alcohol in it & spray your powders - you can also dip your lipsticks in alcohol for a good ol cleaning. This is very safe & wont ruin your products - it's best to do this at night or on a day you're not using your make up just so your makeup can FULLY dry over night or through the day.
HOWEVER, dipping your lipsticks into alcohol frequently CAN dry them up. It doesn't happen often, but it's a small warning. It happens if you do it every day, multiple times a day - if not, your lippies will be fine. :D

Use Beauty So Clean to disinfect! They have a disinfecting spray, disinfecting wipes perfect for cream products (and won't dry up lipsticks, etc.), and they have a brush disinfectant! I swear by this stuff. Also, get a mixing palette and palette knife so you can also just scoop up cream products on the knife and into the palette so you don't contaminate the whole product. :)

So, I just spray the top of my shadows and powders? PERFECTLY safe?? I've heard of the lipstick cleaning through MAC counters and I do have a palette and knife! But what about liquid liner brushes? In those little bottles, dip them into the alcohol? But if Im using them on a client I will infect the bottle if I double dip.... ahhhh, how to use liquid liners??

Yes, if you're skeptical, here's people talking about the alcohol technique for sanitizing.

That's why I try not to use liquid liners on jobs, I use gel liners. But what I have heard people do is take out the applicator from the liquid liner and just use a liner brush, just make sure you don't double dip. And yep you just spray the top of shadows and powders! Check out the beauty so clean website and I think they have demos and explanations and whatnot.

Instead of using liquid liners use cake liner. Benefit makes a really good one. Basically it looks like a powder but when you add a drop of water it turns into an amazing, creamy liquid liner. And don't use lipstick from the tube, de-pot it and use a spatula and palette and then a brush to apply. And don't forget to shampoo your brushes after every client! :)

I use alcohol in a mister bottle to disinfect. beautysoclean is also a really good product.
You can also scrape the tops of certain products. I just always use disposable wands for like everything, and I do like sponges for clients sometimes. I also carry sanitizer and brush cleaner in my brush belt.
