when to discard unused developer?

hey beauties, I have had this developer since last year around this time & I have been storing it in a drawer (away from extreme heat or cold) so it doesn't go bad. I want to use it again ,but i am not sure if/or when it expires. its the Clairol Professional Pure White (20) if you need to know- so can I use it or should I toss it and buy a new developer?
