does anyone know what colour eye shadow would compliment blue eyes the most?

Generally, anything with orange works nicely because blue & orange are opposite on the colour wheel. With that said, it doesn't mean you have to wear full on orange.. LOL Soft peach accents or golds are a more subtle way of going about it.
Complimentary colours are the most common way of finding matches, but also looking into things like split-complimentaries, triads & terads.
Also consider the skin tone as well, some people with blue eyes look lovely in silvers and various shades of blue.. while others look phenomenal in shades of purple and golds.
Good luck. :]

neutrals all the way! i have the naked palette and i use it almost every single day. if you want to go more dramatic, you can use blacks, and i like the look of dark purple too. i've never actually tried orange, but i have used alot of bronze and brown tones and i love it.

However, making my eye color pop is not the only thing I care about when it comes to eye makeup. I personally love to match my eye makeup with my accessories, for example, if I wear purple eyeshadow I'll wear a purple ring, or purple nail polish. I know some people think it's a big no-no to match things like that, but I love it!
My favorite eye shadow colors to wear are plum purples (or basically any red-based purples), reds (like burgundy or deep berry colors), golds, coppers, bronzes, peaches and browns.
If you have blue-green eyes, green eyeshadow will make them look more blue, while blue eyeshadow will make them look more green. I like to wear both green and blue eye shadows, but I almost always pair them with either a gold or a bronze shadow, like I've done here: http://acidwash06.blogspot.com/2011/06/fotd-bronze-blue.html :)

Browns and copper colors make blues pop. Next time you're at the drug store look for Almay make up for blue eyes. That will give you an idea of what colors to look for.

I use browns usually, also I use white eyeliner on my bottom lid to make my eyes brighter.
