What works for someone may not work for someone else and vice versa. Honestly, if you just take one person's opinion and go "Oh, okay", I think you're silly. *You're being used in a general sort of way.
I do like Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I think it's a wonderful primer. I've heard good things about Palladio's primer but I've never actually used it myself.

That's very true Freddie. People on YouTube rant and rave about Urban Decay Primer Potion and it did absolutely nothing for me. I've been wanting to try Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I own the Palladio primer, but I haven't used it yet. I'm using up my NYX HD one first.
Studio Gear has a pretty good primer.

Yeah, UDPP wasn't the best for me either. It wasn't horrible by any means for me, but I just like TFSI more.

yea I wouldn't call it horrible either. The shadows didn't really pop, but I creased like crazy... but I have oily eye lids and no primer seems to wanna work for me.

I used the ELF primer that was doubled ended.. I think it was some sort of liner transformer on the other end. It worked fine, I got a good 4-5 hours wear out of it.
Annabelle's Smoothie Pencil in Melonade really surprised me as well, it holds up great on my oily lids.
My long-term, go-to primers are UDPP & MAC Paints though.. never fail & last until I take them off.

I use either a NYX, Elf or Ulta primer. All are under $6.

Coastal Scents has a nice eyeshadow primer that's pretty cheap. It seems like it won't work because it has an oily feel to it, but it works pretty well. I have a few different primers and its certainly my fav :)

LA Splash makes a really good one!! it's around 7 dollars and the staying power is amazing. i can put it under my shadow before i go out dancing, sweat all night, come home and fall asleep on it and my shadow is still in place the next morning. i love this stuff : )

nyx HD primer. it's $7. i swear by limecrime's eyeshadow base. i'm not sure of the price as i won it in a contest (& i think their website is down for the moment..i'm wanting to say it's in the $15ish range /:), but it's AMAZING.

Try NYX's jumbo eye pencils. Technically they're not primers but they work as excellent bases. Your shadows won't crease at all. I would recommend milk (for colours), black bean (for smokey looks) or french fries (for neutral looks).

@ ashley h. I wouldn't recommend purchasing or wearing limecrime products! For one thing it's repackaged makeup and some of there eye products are not even eye safe!

A Hard Candy primer that came with a palette was my first primer and it was pretty good. I'm not sure if they sell it separately, but even with the other shadows, it's only around $6. :D
