Do you prefer using a eyebrow pencil or a brow power or eyeshadow? And why you prefer using that method :)

I like the liquid formulas. They're translucent so the colour can be very subtle or you can layer on more if you want. They're easy to use since they usually come in a brush-pen style.
I use them mainly because they're waterproof. They last and last. Living where I do, the humidity is a killer so I tend to sweat buckets.

I use both. I like to set the pencil with shadow so that it stays throughout the day and if it is too dark, all I do is brush my brows with a spoolie brush so that it's not so harsh.

@Lex which liquid formulas do you like?

@Jamie I like the K-Palette ones. It's a Japanese brand. It doesn't move AT ALL until you wash your face at the end of the day. Amazing. Hope you can find them in the US. Otherwise, I've got a few friends who get it online. At beautycarousel.com? I think!

I mostly use powder but for a days since it is a softer look but if I am looking for a bit more precision, I use a pencil as well then set it with a powder.

Eye brow pencils for a more natural look, powder for a sharper, more defined brow. I love Shu Uemura's pencil in the hard formula and MAC's 216 + any brown e/s. You can find the K-Palette ones at Ichiban Kan or a Japanese dollar store if you're in the US.

Jasmine - I do the exact same thing! Although, my friend did just feather her eyebrows, and I'm getting REALLY tempted to do it myself since they looked so damned good!
Another good liquid formula is the MUFE brow correctors. Great for ppl that have sparse brows.

I tried the MUFE liquid... At first I didn't like the consistency, but after getting the hang of it... I used it to the very last squeeze! And not to forget it's waterproof... Good for my oily skin, and Hawaii's bipolar humid weather...

@ Jane- I've always been curious about the MUFE liquid! The only thing that kept me from purchasing was because I thought it would make my brows look "flat" or, drawn in. What were your thoughts on it?
I'm currently using brow powder. My favorite is Anastasia brow duo. I like that it has more texture & looks matte/powdery vs. pencils that can seem oily looking on my already combo skin.

I use both pencil and powder. I like to sparse areas with the pencil first and then set with my brow powder.

I use pencil to fill in and then I use brow set gel.

I think the first few times I used the liquid, I may have used a lot of liquid, so I was like yuck. My usual routine is to use a shadow and an angel brushed. But then I realize you only need very little of that liquid stuff.
It's been a while since I used it, but I do know I really like that stuff. Cause now a days when I blot with tissue, blotting paper, etc. and I blot over my eyebrows... I notice part of the brow shadow gets picked up. Then I notice my brows getting slightly lighter, and losing it's define shape (like I could tell the ends were coming off). With the liquid... it would stay put, no matter how many times I blotted or what I blotted with.
Maybe you can do a test run at Sephora. It's darker than shadow, I think. But it didn't look too "flat" or "drawn in" to me.

I've used pencil but I noticed it made me eyebrows way darker and I didn't want that, I just wanted it to cover sparse hair I had. So I went to Sephora and one the employees there suggested the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo - Ebony. There were two colors in the small case; one lighter and one darker. I use both because it really does suit me! It's a bit pricey $22 but considering that eyebrows were one of my best features I had so I bought it. I really do recommend this!

Thanks Jane! I have that same problem with powder, where it slowly fades throughout the day, and get's removed slightly when I blot my face too. One of my eyebrows is like, much shorter than the other though so the whole end of my brow is drawn in and sometimes I carry extra brow powder to refill my ends. lol, it sucks. I'll test out the MUFE liquid at sephora, though!
Has anyone ever tried those new eyebrow pens? Anastasia has one, and I think Lorac does too. It's like a liquid liner pen, but for eyebrows.

Pencil for definition, shadow for colour & gel to set.

I just read this about the MUFE eyebrow liquid: All you need to define and perfect brows with proven results and never a fear of weather or perspiration. The waterproof color creme stands up to extreme conditions (Synchronized Swimmers, Figure Skaters, Ballroom Dancers...) and stays put until you remove it.

I think it just depends on how full your eyebrows are. I have really full and dark eyebrows naturally, so I just use MAC Espresso eyeshadow. But my friend has really thin and sparse eyebrows, so she uses a pencil to actually make it look like she has brows and then she uses an eyeshadow to set it.

I have really sparse eyebrows...really sparse! I blend my TFSI on my whole brow area, since I use powder. I use benefit brow zings, but I don't use the powder...I just use the wax, my MAC 208 and two of my Inglot eyeshadows. I use 363M for the first part, to make it look more natural and then I use the 378M for the rest and the tail. I finish with benefit speed brow. This actually stays put! My eyebrows don't fade like they used to. I used to use Anastasia's brow duo and I've also used the powder in the brow zings, along with MAC Espresso eyeshadow. The Inglot eyeshadow really is pigmented, blends so good and doesn't fade throughout the day. I've been dealing with this brow issue for so long....it can be frustrating to say the least! I am curious about the MUFE brow corrector though...

I have really thin eyebrows and I want to know which is better pencil or eyeshadow?
