GHD I've had a lot to do with ghd's personally I think it's best! has a smooth glide alone hair and takes about 30s to hear up! perfect straight hair each time! I've also heard of a cloud nine, apparently it's just as good as a ghd. i haven't used one myself but I've looked into them and they just don't seem as efficient as a ghd to me. :)

Chi is alright but every one I've had breaks after a year or two. Try sedu flat iron. You can find it on folica.com and it has lasted me forever and straightens my extremely curly hair perfectly.
