Okay, so once upon a time I had really pretty, soft wavy blonde hair. But then I dyed it brown for the heck of it. And dyed it blonde again. And again when it faded. And so on and so forth. Needless to say, I dyed it a lot, so much so that it was thick, coarse, and frizzy when I decided to stop. I had just dyed it brown with a semi-permanent color and got blonde highlights at my hair salon for my birthday. Then I left it alone for the summer, letting the sun do its thing, which it did. It stayed like this, letting my roots grow out (naturally a medium brown) until I hated it, and decided to dye it again; blonde. By this time, my hair had recuperated; I was treating it like gold. It was soft, shiny, and wavy again, even if it wasn't the color I wanted. So I dyed it light golden blonde, Garnier Nutrisse, Ammonia-free. It looked great- for a week, when it faded to a golden yellowish color with red undertones, even though I was using John Frieda Everlasting Blonde shampoo and conditioner and Aveeno Living Color serum. Thinking to myself, 'My hair deserves better, one more time can't hurt', I dyed it again using Revlon Colorsilk Luxurious Buttercream 73n Medium Neutral Blonde. It looks okay- but my hair condition is, once again, thick, coarse, frizzy. I'm concerned about what it will look like when the roots grow out and it fades. Right now, it's not my favorite color, but I've come to terms with the fact that my hair will NEVER look like the blonde on the box, nor will it stay the same for long. Tips, tricks, and advice on how to make it healthy again and keep a beautiful, vibrant color? How do I make it softer and less frizzy? BTW I really don't wanna dye it again anytime soon- too much damage- so what should I do if it fades to an ugly, mousy, lifeless color?

Wear it up. Same thing happened to me, except my hair turned baby poop green blonde. I got made fun,of but eventually after leaving it alone it turned out a beautiful blonde color thus being the hair color in my picture:)

Using box dyes will make your hair more damaged because of the metallic salts in them will cause more breakage and also with box dye it will never look like the picture on the box because everyones hair is different and it isnt formulated for just your hair. I recommend a deep conditioner that moisturizes and strengthens. At sallys beauty supply there are deep conditioners called roux color refresh mask that deposit a little bit of color and will freshen up your color, there is a good selection of colors. And using moroccan oil on your hair when damp and a little once dry will make your hair softer, smoother and shinier!
