The secret is so simple and FREE, use ur fingers to massage your scalp every time you take a shower, and even throughout the day. IT REALLY HELPS. And btw braids will make your hair worse and more damaged. Try to loose it up every now and then. I wish my comment was helpful ❤

Actually braids are not damaging as long as they're not too tight && you still take care of your hair.... Idk what your hair texture is but braids will help to grow out most curly to kinky hair textures. It's called "protective styling" google it for tons of info & ideas ☺

I used a product named nu gro its all natural I order it on line but really do work when I have client that edges have been broken off from braid I recommend this for them an it a months they have grown back

I know I don't have the same hair textures as the other brown beauties on here, but I've definitely had my fair share of "sista hair" troubles, so I'll just put in my two cents!
This was a while back, but I remember all too clearly how practically bald I was by the time I took out my braids and cornrows after keeping them in for a few months. (Yes, they were too tight and with the added extensions, it was super heavy.) Scalp was SORE as heck and my hair was so weak and brittle, I was ashamed to go out in public with so little hair. I used something called Doo Gro and it actually worked! Forgot the exact name of the product, but it was for hair re-growth or something like that. It took a few weeks for me to notice the growth, but my hair was definitely not as thin and weak as when I first took out the braids.
You can get Doo Gro anywhere - Wal-Mart, Sally's Beauty, CVS, etc.

thank you leshea and bonnie was it like a grease or was it a spray

@Suad A., The Doo Gro products I used were a shampoo and conditioner. Kinda small as they don't really sell in large liter bottles, but it worked so I had no complaints. Smells pretty nice, too =P

Oh! There's also an oil I'm currently using right now. For thickening. It's called Doo Gro Mega Thick. (They also have a shampoo for Mega Thick, but I haven't used it yet. I'm trying to see how well the oil works on its own.)

Yeah my hair has fine 3c-4a type curls that can be pretty fragile :-/ but I'm wearing Nubian twists right now as a protective style the hair got is pretty lightweight and the I made sure the braided was gentle... I just make sure my natural hair says moisturized && everything should be good when I take them down in a few weeks.

I'm trying to gain some length as well so now I'm focused more on protective styling, moisturizing, and I'm also taking my vitamins regularly ☺

Hhmm I guess that depends in how many mg your pills are... I would start with a low dose to make sure it doesn't break you out or anything and then increase if you want... I've never taken biotin alone so I don't know exact dosages but I've taken all types of hair vitamins (natures bounty, future biotics, nioxin, hairfinity) all of which have varying amounts of biotin & other vitamins in one pill
