Hi so I've been using clearsil face wash for almost a year now and its a great gentle face wash thats helped clear up some acne. Now my acne is starting to come back and I know this could be caused by many other things, but my face just doesn't feel as clean anymore when I wash it. Kinda like as if my face got used to the cleanser. So I've heard about using Baby Shampoo as a face wash and how its supposed to be gentle and make your face real soft. Then of course I've heard bad about it too. Any opinions? Thanks Loves!! :*

Wow never heard about that before.. but I know that some feminine wash can also bea face wash because they're gentle and their ph balance is low. :)

Cetaphil is the best cleanser for acne, I used to have really bad acne and it moisturized and cleaned my face really gently!

Never heard of baby shampoo. but why not just switch cleansers? I use purpose gentle cleansing wash. it works good, it doesn't do anything for acne though. it's just to remove makeup and clean skin.

Baby Shampoo isn't designed to be a cleanser for those with acne. It doesn't soak up excess oils or kill bacteria. It may work on someone with sensitive skin? Most likely not going to clear up acne. Proactiv works wonders, it seems others have had a great experience or a horrible one with Proactiv. The two active ingredients in Proactiv are benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. If you're on a budget there are other lines that would be more affordable that have these ingredients in them.
Neutrogena Complete Acne Therapy System (benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid)
Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Control Kit (benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid)

I used Johnson's baby body wash to wash my face before, my doctor recommended it cuz I have sensitive skin. It's very gentle, but I don't think it can help with acnes.

If you have acne your best bet is a cleanser designed for acneic skin. a balanced skin routine consisting of a cleanser, toner, moisturizer to start. Murad is an amazing product. There are also many other more affordable lines. it's important that your skin be treated with the correct product and balance to achieve the best results. Also change of season, stress and many other factors can contribute to a products sudden ineffectiveness. Ideally a product thats molecular chemistry is key

I use a cleanser with alpha hydroxy acid, followed by a swipe of witch hazel and tea tree oil. I also do exfoliating enzyme masks of papaya blended with lemon juice. And always moisturize :)

You don't have to use a cleanser meant for acne...Honestly I find they don't do a thing. That all comes from whatever treatments you put on your skin, whether it be spot treatments or serums. Sure, acne treating/preventing cleansers can and do help people, but not everyone and even if you do have acne you don't have to use an acne-fighting cleanser. The point of cleansing is simply to remove dirt, makeup, oil, etc. A cleanser, in my opinion, should not be expected to do anything else except maybe exfoliate. Cleansers are not in contact with the skin long enough to deliver much acne medication. It literally gets washed down the drain when you rinse it off. It's probably better to use a gentle, non-acne-fighting cleanser. Too much acne fighting can dry the skin and if you have acne you don't want to keep stripping the skin of moisture. That's usually why the skin is so oily, it's dry and dehydrated. So I think using baby shampoo would be fine and then you can use a spot treatment for acne.

I never used baby shampoo on my my three kids as baby's. I don't know which brand you're using but most mass produced baby shampoos are loaded with preservatives and the ingredients are far from beneficial for the skin. If it works for you that's great but I think it would be a wise move to investigate a more beneficial cleanser once you get a little older.
