Hi guys can you please tell me what exactly is chemical peeling? and is it safe?

Chemical peeling removes the fisrt layer of your skin (you have 4 on your face) in order to remove scarring and such. It's relatively safe provided you take care of your skin after (the professionals will tell you what to do, but usually its just to keep your skin out of the sun until it grows back and heals completely)

It also burns a little during the procedure and your face will be really red and sensitive to touch after - like similar procedures

Chemical peeling is done to exfoliate your skin and get rid of the dead skin and also fade acne marks. Various acids are used like glycolic acid,TCA,Lactic acid etc. Basically,The acid is applied to your face kept for 10 mins roughly (depends on the conc. and type of acid) and then its washed off. The acid breaks the bonds between the cells and helps them to slough off whenever you wash your face.Hence it also helps in cell renewal and ultimately fades the acne marks by doing this. The concentration of acid used ranges from 20-70%.
Its safe doing it if done under proper medical supervision and a good dermatologist.
I got glycolic acid peeling done on me to fade my acne marks and I am satisfied with the result!!:)) Hope I helped!

I actually just had my first one yesterday! It takes little time, and since it was my first one it was gentler than other ones. It was actually kinda nice! And I'm not peeling at all right now, just some small patches of dry flakey skin.

Mostly you don't develop any allergies.Just consult a good dermatologist. Post peeling you do have to take extra care of your skin like always wear spf which the derm will tell you. Skin does not become sensitive but for few days you have to stay away from make up and bleaching, scrubbing and stuff. Use proper and good products post peeling.

Once you get the hang of it, you can do it yourself at home. There are some posts on it in the MUA section. Only when you are ready though!

Do you girls know if it's good for wanting a brighter complexion? I've been getting like a weird tan lately that doesn't really suit me and I just want to be a medium fair complection again...I don't likr being closer to olive.

@Antisar- I think chemical peeling would help to get off the tan. Just consult a dermatologist and go ahead.:)

Great, do you know how long are the healing processes and how many sessions does the average person need a year? my wedding is next year that's why I ask.

Devyani G.
Healing generally takes about 8 days. I don't know how many sessions you will need, it depends on your tan. I think dermatologist will be the best person to tell you that!! you can also look into some YouTube videos to get the hang of procedure and prepare yourself for it.:))) Bdw Congo for your wedding!!:)
