Most of their products are really worth it! Love their brushes, eye pencils, and eyeshadows! All depends on what you're looking for i think it's worth it to shell out a few more dollars...but there are plenty of companies I've come across who (in mt opinion) do it better than MAC, from drugstore to Online Botiques it's too many to choose from ^_^

Some, and not all... Just as it would be with drugstore products. Items will vary in quality depending on brand and product type, so there's no definite answer.
Personally, I prefer MAC for their brushes, matte^2 eyeshadows, palettes, and blushes.
I'm not a super fan of drugstore products, but some stand out brands for me are Physican's Formula [blushes and liners], Revlon and Covergirl [lipsticks].
It's up to you to decide which textures and finishes they offer that you may like. I'd love to recommend you try all the matte^2 shadows from MAC, but you might prefer shimmers... So give it a try! They do have a pretty good return policy... =P

Absolutely. They have a good return policy and a wide range of colors/formulas for pretty much everything. I find it to be one of the higher end brands thats nice to my wallet.

It depends on what you like to wear. Some of their paint pot shades are just fabulous and shades I can't find anywhere else; however a lot of their blushes and regular eyeshadows could be "dooped" easily.

Permanent line, sure.
Collections at this point? Nah.

In my opinion (only tried a mac foundation once, and it was because a girl i went on vaca with had some and we were the same skin tone) and i think more on the hype than anything. It was good coverage dont get me wrong, but it didnt stop me from going back to my relvon colorstay the next day without a beat. I honestly believe that drugstore is definetly uping their game when it comes to thier quality such as wet n wild color icon, relvon lip butters, and maybelline's color tattos (some gurus even said it was better than the mac paint pots!) So to each their own. I rather buy 4 eyeshadow pallys than shelling out the same money for one single eyeshadow pot because of a name.

I personally love MAC products! I haven't tried everything from them but I love their lipsticks, eyeshadows, cremesheen glass, powder blushes, mineralize blushes, and mineralize skinfinish.
It depends on what's in your budget though.

I love their Face and lip products but their eye shadows aren't a must have for me as you can find dupes for most.

The permanent line is great. A lot of people complain that the skincare line breaks them out though so maybe steer away from that if you have sensitive skin.
With that said, a lot of the eyeshadows are awesome. If you purchase the pro pan refill forms as opposed to the regular packaging, you can save money and then just purchase a refillable palette.
Stay away from the lustre eyeshadows though because they are often not very pigmented and a waste of money. The rest of the eyeshadows are great and their lipsticks are AMAZING!

I used to be a MAC hater until I tried out more of their products! I use their paint pots, eye shadows, foundations, blushes, and powders. I will admit I did find myself getting sucked into buying a bronzer from them that worked just as good as my Rimmel one lol A lot of my friends swear by MAC while others say their face makeup tends to cause them to breakout I haven't had any breakouts using their products but everyone's skin is different! My favorite product has to be the skin finish powder, it makes my face look flawless!

I like them primarily for their blushes, paint pots, and lipsticks. The eyeshadows are alright... most are pretty pigmented and I love the fact that they have a huge range of colors, but there are better formulas out there. I don't think that MAC is the best makeup brand ever... it has a lot of good products but it also has a lot of not so great or overpriced items.

Personally for me I think MAC is grt and can not be compared to alot of drug store brands while drug stores have definitely come a long way but they do not compare in quality to MAC or any of the other higher end brands when being photographed or if u have extremely oily skin then the higher ends brands are ur best bet like the old saying goes u get what u pay for

i have been wearing MAC since the 90's So I was raised on it. At that time there was no other brand that made shades for all skin tones. Today I have changed my foundation to nars ,my eyeshadows to urban decay, blushes to nars. But all my lipsticks, glosses, bronzer come from mac. Mac is def worth money but forums like this urge you to try diff brands. so go to the counters and try try try then go to sephora and try the other brands you have been hearing about. MAC is a industry standard and favorite but it does not have to be the holy grail

I also find that MAC products last and last even with everyday use and its one of those brands that a little bit goes along way so either way you get your money's worth and while their maybe dupes for SOME of their colors there are just some all times fav's that everyone should have in their kit

I Feel That MAC Products Are Not Worth The Money Only If Your Doing Jobs For Singers Or Actress,Basically Stage Performance I Feel That Way B/c A Number Of Ppl Complain About How Their Foundations Course Breakouts, Rashes, ETC. But They Also Have Mineral Foundations That Might Work Great And Be Worth The Money, But MAC Do Have A Variety Of Products That Would Be Worth It & Far As They Brushes I Do Not Feel You Should Spend $22 On ONE Brushed When You Could Get The Similar Brush From SigmaBeauty.Com Or CrownBrush.Com And They All Work The Same But My Overall Opinion About MAC Is That Your Just Paying For The Name But They Do Have Some Products That You Would Have To Buy And Some You Can Find A Duplicate Also Their Products Is Not Animal Tested If Your Concern About That Kind Of Stuff. I Hoped I Help Also Please Follow Thankss :-)

I worked in dermatology field for over 6 yrs and the most common thing you would find about ppl that complained about MAC and outbreaks was how they cared for their skin and what was their skincare regimen alot of times breakouts occur when u use soaps and other harsh cleansers on their face if they even cleansed thier face at all. Not to mention u maybe able to purchase a cheaper brush like sigma or sonya kashuck or so on and I have them all but I have found in the last 10 years that MAC brushes last and hardly ever shed and as far as animal tested thats a issue that alot of drug store brands still do as well majority of other brands if they dont tell you that its vegan free or non animal tested then assume it is and anything BRAND you purchase be it clothing or makeup or hair products is for the name . And I have found that in the big picture of price points MAC is middle of the road their are so many others that are way higher and not considered an industry standard by most of ur top professionals. Not only that but when ur doing makeup in my opinon its an art and our and our clients faces are the canvas would u use top quality acrylic paint if u were Davinci paintig the Mona Lisa or crayola water colors ?

I used to ONLY use drugstore makeup because of the price but some of their brands like Revlon are raising their prices for their products so for the amount of product you buy its almost the same price as buying an item from MAC. I feel MAC is worth the money because Matchmaster is one of the best foundations I have used on my skin! I'd rather pay a little more for better quality because in the long run drugstore brands prices are catching up, why pay more money for less product that is crappy?
As for MAC's brushes, they are EXPENSIVE for the average girl on a budget but they DO last a long time! I have MAC's stippling brush which I have had for 2 years now and it still holds up great where as I have only had my Sonja Kashuk brushes for less than 6 months and they're already breaking. You sadly do get what you pay for!

If you find shades of eyeshadow and lipstick you like on MAC, you can go to temptalia's dupe list and find more affordable duplicates.

I say go to a MAC counter and get a sample of something u like or buy one pot of eyeshadow and then get a duplicate and see which u like best as far as texture, consistency, and pigmentation and lasting pwer

As far as I am concern Mac like every other cosmetic line is a line that has it's hit's and misses. You have to try certain products in order to find out what you like and do not like. Some of their products i like to purchase have more products in the tube or containers therefore they are a little more expensive then a drugstore brand. My top products I purchase from Mac are their paint pots, lip glasses, lip sticks, eye shadows, studio fix powder foundation, and their fix plus. Besides the studio fix powder foundation and the fix plus I only purchase all the other products I named only if I see a color that I find unique other than that I will spend my money on drugstore products. In most cases if you are pretty good at applying makeup you can make any makeup product work most of the times.

Im a huge fan of their blushes and concealers and fix+ but the rest of it I feel like ive found things that work just as well, especially brushes, from other places. But it's entirely up to you what you choose to use. Just shop around and form your own opinions about it. : )
