You should most likely wear something cute but also something you can move in heels are definitely a no.

Invest in basics that can be combined in a variety of ways for a variety of occasions. Well-fitting jeans in black and dark blue, khaki pants, a black or navy knee-length pencil skirt, solid color tee-shirts and tanks, some cardigan sweaters, a couple of semiformal dresses. This way you can combine things with jewelry and shoes to make casual, formal, or professional outfits (have to be ready for job interviews or college interviews).

For shoes, some good athletic shoes for phys. ed., some flats, a pair of low-heeled closed-toed pumps, fun sneakers, sandals, and boots.

You can still add your personality through blouses, tee-shirts, and accessories while also having a versatile wardrobe that will last at least until college if not longer. :)
