I'm having my hair coloured next week and would like to fade the red in it. What can I do to fade the colour without damaging it too much? I've heard vosene is good...

Hard water can make blonde highlights look brassy. I use a Touch of Silver shampoo and conditioner to keep it looking really bright.

It looks great Velen! Suits you, I'll have to see if they sell it in England

The week or two before I go into the salon for a change, I switch to clarifying shampoo to fade the color a bit and make the transition easier on my stylist.

I've never used it before, I have heard a couple people mention it on here. I use Ion's clarifying shampoo from Sally's just because it was the first one I saw when I was looking for one back in the day... and it works for me so I have never had to switch! I may check it out if I ever run out of the Ion brand. Head &Shoulders also works to fade color A LOT(I removed blue from platinum blonde by mixing head &shoulders with baking soda)... If you just want to fade it, I would stick with the clarifying shampoo, but if you want to significantly remove color I would suggest dandruff shampoo with baking soda (very drying).
