Do you use a lot of heat tools?

It could be that your scalp is producing too much oil. Washing your hair every 1-2 days can potentially cause your scalp to over-produce oil in order to replenish itself after being stripped of its natural moisture so frequently. Try gradually extending how long you go between washes and use a dry shampoo to keep your hair fresh and non-greasy between washes. Your scalp will adapt and produce less oil once it starts to not need as much. In the meantime, rinsing with apple cider vinegar once a week or so can help. It's anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and it restores your scalp to its normal pH level.
Also, do you sleep with wet hair? I've noticed with my own hair that having it wet overnight can sometimes make it smell funky. :-/

As Kelly said, going to bed with wet hair is never good. A friend of mine actually ended up with mold in her hair from going to bed with soaking wet hair all the time.

It could be a number of things:
- Going to bed with your hair wet
- Heat style (especially with an old straightener/curling iron or poor quality heat tools)
- The hair products you use
- Not washing your pillow cases enough
- The water you use when you shower (excess minerals)
Try a deodorizing spray for your hair. L'Oreal makes one that works great.

I used to go bed with wet hair but then I thought they might be it. Now I take showers in the morning so it's gone down a bit but it still comes back sometimes. Thank you guys for your help!
