Acrylic is when they put a fake nail over yours for length. Gel is just a really thick polish-type finish over your natural nail. I hate what my nails look like after the acrylic comes off...your nails get thin and weak. I would go w gel

Most places call arcrylics with gel over top 'gel nails'. But true gel nails don't involve arcrylic at all.

Gel nails also stay on longer I believe.

I hate acrylic too, i find them quite painful because they dont bend like your natural nail. I love gel, its easier to do your self although building up a decent kid could cost you quite a bit xx

I wouldn't suggest acrylic nails unless you really want to go for it... they damage your real nails and can make them thin an unhealthy for long periods after removal of the acrylic.
