Cab you give a photo of what it looks like? Have you tried a vitamin c serum with a chemical exfoliant like a BHA or AHA?

It could be melasma. Have you gone to a dermatologist?

It looks like melasma, which is mainly homone based. Pregnant women or women who were recently pregnant as well as those on birth control pills are esp. susceptible to melasma. It is very stubborn to get rid of. Vitamin C is a good start as well as an effective retinol cream and most IMPORTANTLY, SUNSCREEN. Even with all that, you may only see a small improvement. Everyone is different. There are rx creams & laser treatments that may also help.

The most popular I believe is TRILUMA, which is a combination of retin-a and hydroquinone. Although, not only is hydroquinone frowned upon because most countries consider it toxic, but for some people, it can make melasma worse.
