What's the difference between bronzing and contouring? I'm a little confused because it seems that some beauty you tubers use the words interchangeably.

Contouring is to slim or shape your own bone structure hehe like slimming a round face by applying a cool or neutral toned shade (depending on your skin tone) under your cheekbones.
Bronzing is just tanning up your complexion giving it more color.
Youtubers aren't really makeup artists and usually just promote products from makeup companies. That's why you see so many warm contour products

I agree with Livi.
Contouring is used to add dimension to the face by creating shadows. This is don't with a cool toned shade to mimic a shadow.
Bronzing is used to add color and a sun kissed glow to the skin. This is done with a warm toned shade to mimic a natural tan.

I agree with the others contouring is used to a dimension to your face but with bronzing its just meant to add that nice sunkissed kinda look to your face

So contouring is sharper, where as bronzer is more blended?

Taylor, both should be blended. You shouldn't be able to see a stripe of contouring powder.

I agree with the other ladies.
Bronzer is just to add color/ a slight tan appearance.
It's applied where the sun naturally hits the face and similar to how some people put highlighter
Tops of the cheekbones, forehead, chin and on the nose.
Some people even put blush is some of those areas.
I've read one member saying that is you're using contour then you don't need to use bronzer which isn't the case of you had gotten a tan and your makeup doesn't quite match, you're pretty much adding some color everywhere else so that you don't look like you're a floating head compared to your body :P
And blush and/or highlight can be applied after if you wanted.
You really don't need much bronzer, just a few swipes in those areas to tone down the contrast between your lighter makeup color and the rest of your body.
Then you could go ahead and add a sweep of blush then highlight but a lot of blushes and bronzers have a little bit of shimmer which give a nice soft glow for the summer without the need of a highlighter but you could still use one.
Now, if you're someone that's quite fair and you don't want to look a little tan then just skip bronzer, they tend to be quite warm toned anyway, so just stick with a taupe color to contour
