My friend wants new makeup and she's kinda new to it. She is going to Sephora and Ulta and doesn't know what the best products are. I don't usually shop there so I don't know what to tell her. She's looking for everything except foundation, concealer etc. Or if you know any other stores that sell just as good makeup. Thanks!

I suggest an eyeshadow primer like Too faced Shadow Insurance because it will make her eye makeup last all day!

A good eyeshadow is basic. I used my Urban Decay Naked pallete for 2 years and was a great investment! You can create several looks and the quality makes blending very easy. There are other options depending on what colors and finishes she likes.

I've liked a lot L?ncome Hypnose Drama mascara. It holds the curl pretty well and lengthens the eyelashes.

Too Faced has gorgeous blushes :) Nars is another good option with an extensive range of colors.

Becca has great highlighters! They brighten the complexion :) I also like Benefit Watts Up (lovely champagne color).

For lips I really like a different products like Sephora rouge lipstick (creamy, cheap, long lasting), Marc Jacobs lip creme (great pigmentation) and Too Faced melted lipstick (long lasting)

Sephora's independent line has really nice products for not that expensive, and Diorshow mascara is amazing. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer is really high-quality, and Tarte makes a cream blush (in stick form) that is really natural-looking and has great pigmentation. For lips, I adore Sephora's Colorful Gloss Balm (beautiful shine and gorgeous, bright color, I have it in the berry shade) as well as Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment (original-- gives a beautiful, buildable rosy tint!) Also,
Colourpop makes really high quality products but has really low prices (for example, their liquid lipsticks are $6!) I just ordered a few products from there: Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick in Lyin' King, the Contour and Highlight Sculpting Stix, the nude crème gel eyeliner, a champagne shadow, and the Lippie Primer. Hope this helps! :)

And if she's interested in Sephora and Ulta, I would suggest their rewards programs... it's free to sign up and you get free products when you buy makeup :)

The best thing for her to do is experiment with what is there - both stores have samples and open packages to try out in the store - just be careful to bring some sanitary wipes to clean the products before you use them to swatch on your skin or try to use a piece of paper that are usually around the fragrances - see what looks best on her skin and what she likes - makeup is all about self expression - so have fun and play around with it - if she wants to do some research she can go online and look at those websites to see product reviews and details before she goes to the store so she has an idea of what to look for when she gets there - also don't forget to stop by the sample counters and the travel/trial size areas they are full of goodies to try at very reasonable prices
