I am looking for oils to use but I have oily skin and don't want anything too strong. Any suggestions?

What do you want to use them for? If it's just for moisture I personally love jojoba oil and maracuja oil - I use them alone to replace my moisturizer when my skin is dry and also it actually helps reduce the oiliness too.

Diana where do you get them at?

I love maracuja oil for my oily skin! You can get it from Tarte at Ulta or Sephora

I like coconut oil, the reason it's great for summer and was used in Southeast Asia is cause it's very lightweight and it actually helps oily skin not be as oily a tiny bit

I buy jojoba oil online through drugstore.com by a brand called desert essence it's so cheap and 100% pure - the maracuja I usually get as free samples from Sephora through the tarte brand

You shouldnt use coconut oil on your face because it will clog your pores and eventually cause acne. I would just stick to using it on your body and your hair but the face is just too sensitive.

And I would recommend argan oil...it only takes 1-2 drops to moisturize your face. And I would only use it at night because it takes a little while to fully absorb. Jojoba oil would be good if you wanted to use it in the day because its a lot lighter and fast absorbing.

^ this actually depends on the person.
Coconut oil can actually help kill bacteria but on some people it can clog pores on "sensitive skin" but I've known people with sensitive skin that don't have a problem with it so it could be that they have a slight problem with coconut itself

Aurora is right everyone's skin is different and what works for some may or may not work for others - it may clog pores for some but not everyone - and Ariana - Do you have any scientific evidence or data from studies to support your claims? We all are entitled to our opinions so let's try to keep it positive and not discredit someone else's advice.

Thank you girls so much! I'm looking to use them for a moisturizer at night to add to my skincare routine but I don't want anything too heavy to make me look greasy when I wake up.

I have tried to look it up and haven't found anything so when I ask for it it's because I'm genuinely interested and would like to know where people get their information from - as I am a chemist myself and I haven't been able to find any scientific studies on how coconut oil causes acne :)

They may be satisfactory to you but not to me and that's just my opinion on it :)

I like coconut in my drinks but not on my face it doesn't react with me but hey we all have a experience or story to share. :)

True that alma - I'm the same as you I love drinking it but I personally wouldn't put it on my face but hey if someone else suggests it who am I to tell them they are wrong or that others shouldn't try it? :)

Lol I don't ever claim that my opinions are scientific fact and/or discredit the opinions of others just because I don't agree with them by telling people not to follow their advice due to whatever reasons that are not supported by science at all - we all our entitled to our opinions so thanks you everyone for sharing yours :)

Ladies can I be honest with both of you?

I'm trying to stay positive but for whatever reason reny you always seem to target me and I don't understand why - but it's fine I'll take your advice and hold myself up to my own standards - thank you :) and yes alma please feel free to be honest with us as I do value your opinion as well as everyone else's :)

Which Moderators?
I can agree on what you said about the subjects being turned into horror stories and I think there is a way to reply when it comes to disagreements just to keep the peace.
I'm not sure why you both continue to go back and forth with each other on a constant.I swear we have a list of threads that I would gladly share here of you two not poised. It's clear you both haven't been able to see eye to eye and that's OK but come on here ladies, this is a simple question asked about oils for skin and frankly it's hilarious that it's come down to this. The girl hasn't even come back to her thread and yet it still is active by the "Truth" patrol or the TMZ of beauty lol all joking aside it's ok to be honest and not always agree but don't get heated over it just let it roll off or don't comment on a thread with someone you commonly have the outs with. I like you both and sometimes you both are alike on threads when you both go back and forth with others.I encourage feed back from so many and it's appreciated but if you feel so many are asinine comments just respond respectfully don't add to it with asinine behavior over simple subject's. It looks like we are dealing with a combo of Oil & vinegar here lol
I respectfully ask you both to please stop debating since it's crystal clear you both won't change each other mind. :)

Yup I understood what you asked her as I understood her. You both are valid but wished it didn't get heated:)

Can I just say this pic had me rolling in laughter

Lol yes thanks for the silly photo alma you always know how to diffuse a situation - and I feel like you target me reny because as alma said we have a history of going back and forth so I'm trying to be the bigger person here and say that you are right and I am wrong and I will follow your advice so thank you reny and alma for everything :)
