You need to tease it and when you do the bangs you need to blow dry them the opposite way you want them to go to get that volume. Hairspray and texturizing spray are you best friend for this hair.

Tease it, straighten it and add purple or red streaks with either clip on extensions or dye.

Agree with everyone. your bangs need to be thicker therefore tease them. just add lots if volume to get that fullness of the 'scene' hair.

I used to do my hair like that and I would always tease part and then hairspray it and continue doing that and after I had that done I'd just go in with a dense brush and brush out the very top layer of hair so it didn't look tangled. Also, if you don't already have straight hair, flat iron it. This isn't necessary but colored streaks help pull the look together and if you're not allowed to you can always get clip ins.

Add more volume
And try wearing more dark eyeliner or something
Maybe that'll help

I normally wear eyeliner, but my eye has been bugging me so I haven't been wearing it for a couple days.

It takes time sweetie. You just have to play around with your hair until you achieve the look you want. When I wore my hair scene/emo I always used to tease it and spray hairspray on my hair. Also if you want your hair to look longer , put clip ins on your hair (most scene hairstyles included clip ins) so yea just play around with it to achieve the look you want. Look up tutorials on YouTube to see how you can fix your flaws or achieve the look you want ❤️

I did this when a was younger, I would cut my own hair cause it was such high maintenance.
I would start my layers just above the tip of my ear and work my way down until my hair laid into a point on both sides.
For styling, I started with hairspray and heat protection. Then I would tease every layer. And after all that was done, I took my straightener over the teased layers and put hairspray on the underside of each piece of hair.
For the bangs, I would do the same, starting with hairspray and teasing but then I would use the straightener to place my hair in the direction I wanted it to go. Dramatic side swept bangs are a part of the look so after its all done, load up the hairspray and pin it to the side you want it on until it dries.
After all that, take a brush and lightly brush over and fly aways and add in your accessories! And you're done :)
