Peels are very helpful for reducing their appearance drastically. Some seems and licensed Estheticians offer free or low-cost consultations.

Thank you Rozberry, what peel would you recommend?

Lactic acid helps reduce redness and scarring as well as glycolic acid.
I've had peels on similar scarring and have seen fabulous results.
You should definitely go for peels, I think you would be very pleased with the results.
A dermatologist or Esthetician can figure out what strength of peel to use on your skin to start, everyone is different.

I agree with AJM. I'd let the pro decide. There are some home peels available with reviews on Sephora and Ulta online, but you're going to get the best results with a pro. They really are amazing..with some having little-to-no downtime.

Wow, I will definitely have a look shortly, I don't have deep scars, but they are still ugly and I would not really like to use foundation all my life just to hide them :(

Ahh thanks girls :) I saw some youtube videos for this peels, I am thinking of going for a 20% or lower to see how it goes, AJ M do you think it is safe enough or I should definitely go to a dermatologist?

@Ema C
I would strongly recommend seeing a derm first, the reason for that being, if you've never peeled before you have no idea how your skin is going to react and it's better to have a professional there who can neutralize the peel.

Having said that, once you have a few peels under your belt and you know how your skin will react, and how your skin peels and your downtime and healing, you could peel on your own. But I would strongly advise seeing a derm or Esthetician first.

I peel on my own now but I also still see a pro for a stronger grade peel and laser diode.

The reason I'm recommending a pro visit first is they can tell you exactly what your skin is like. Whether it's thick or thin skin, how sensitive it is, how you'll react to peels... I have no problem with home peels, once you yourself know how your skin is. Too many people get chemical burns. I would be horrified if that happened to you and it would be irresponsible of me to say to DIY a peel at home if you have virgin skin (never had a peel).

I would do at least 2 - 5 visits depending on the peel percentages used on your face.

If you really want to DIY it at home, let me know and I can tell you the products and the process I use so you've got first hand experience.

Thank you very much for the helpful replay AJ M. I do understand your point and if it's risky I prefer going to a dermatologist yes because I don't want to make things worse.
I don't really have sensitive skin so I think I could tolerate a chemical peel pretty well, but the dermatologist/ Esthetician will confirm this. I agree that once I see how they are doing it and how my skin reacts I can perhaps try it at home.

Thank you very much :)
