Ladies I have a quick question for you I know when straightening your hair and using a heat protectant it is still a bad for your hair rather than not getting any heat at all but can using hairspray on your hair be the same as straightening it with the alcohol in it basically because I cannot straighten my hair anymore but I can't just leave it alone because I don't like the way it looks but when I put hairspray in it and it gives it that natural ways I can leave my hair like that for 3 days I just want to know if its the same or is putting hairspray in it better for hair :)

I think using hairspray for your hair is necessary when you want your hair to stay straight.. When I flat iron my hair it'll only stay fully until noon and I don't even go to a normal school so I'm always wondering why.. Having any type of oil or product in your hair will protect it from getting badly damage.. I usually put oil on my ends so my hair won't look weighed down. So yea I think using both heat protection spray and hair spray is good to use when your flat ironing your hair..

Okay so I think my question got misinterpreted basically I'm asking is when I put hair protectant in my hair and straighten it isn't doing the same damage as if I was to get out of the shower and put hairspray in my hair to make it wavy.

I honestly think it is. Like you said putting all the chemicals from the hairspray like the alcohol dries the hair out.

Ohhhh lol 😄 If you want your hair to be wavy , put leave in conditioner instead of hair spray to make it less damaging.

Hmm good question, I think from my experience that if I straighten it all the time my hair is getting really damaged in like 1 month, therefore I prefer using a hairspray and my hair is still not so damaged.

Hair spray won't cause damage if you use it in moderation. If you're piling on hairspray everyday and not properly washing it out of your hair then yes, it's going to cause damage. But if you use just what you need when you need it and properly wash it out then your hair should be fine.

And Hmm I think it all depends what and how you're doing your hair... If you're just putting hair protection and no oil it's very damaging and it'll still be dry.. Putting oil and heat protection would protect your hate from being badly damage because you have something to protect it.. I've never put hair spray on my hair after I took a shower but it seems like if your brushing your hair everyday and putting a lot of hairspray on its a bit damaging.. I think if you want to wear your hair wavy , put leave in conditioner and just a little bit of hair spray might not be really bad.

Lol thanks alyah I see what your saying :)
thanks ema :)
alexis if I'm leaving hairspray in 3 days because I don't wash my hair everyday but I am getting all the hair spray out when I do wash it do you think that's damaging leaving it in for the 3 days

I would think that leaving hairspray in your hair for 3 days straight would be damaging, yes. If wavy hair is your natural texture, though, I don't see why you'd need to use hairspray anyways. I think a texture spray is more what you should be looking to use.

Your right alexis because when I do put hairspray in my hair at spirals right up that's wht I am more looking for thank you and if you have any recommendations because I've never bought texture spray please let me know.

I'd suggest Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray. Just spray it in your hair and give it a few scrunches, it'll help achieve a more textured, wavy look (:
