When you wash in the shower, try using your normal body wash (or use soap & glorys clean on me, its amazing and you get loads!!) and put it on a loofah (or body puff) as this will help exfoliate all the dirt away :)

Lemon juice and sugar scrub should fix the dirt, as well as the tanning mishap. Plus you end up exfoliated! Bonus!

It may be dirt. but discoloration on the neck and underarms is usual and is not caused by improper hygine, its skin discoloration which occurs on the knees and elbows to google further into it. lemon juice is good for lightening these areas naturally.

Do a milk bath! Add a few cups of milk to a warm bath and soak for at least 20 mins. The lactic acid in milk breaks the bonds of dry skin and makes exfoliating more effective. This'll work for your knees too ;)

Let her soak in a bubble bath. An exfoliating scrub or light pumice will help any calloused areas that are becoming discolored. Make it a pretty basket with a nice warm robe. I got a shower head with a blue LED to make showering more fun for my kids. Don't shame her into it :(
Some people have sensory issues regarding water or temperature or other aspects of bathing but if you make it fun and luxurious she may take to it. Maybe a heater in the bathroom if it's chilly where you live.

This is slightly funny :) anyway, throw her in a hot shower, and scrub scrub scrub until surface dirt has gone, then reduce the heat and use a dry or oily skin cleanse ( cetaphil comes to the rescue) get her out, dry her off, then some facial mask like honey on the really bad areas, back in a lukewarm shower, out and dry, then deorderant and body mist.... WOW I just wrote a lot....
