Seems like no matter what I do, my hair will tone itself into a gold reddish color that I absolutely despise.
My natural hair color (which I haven't seen a whole lot of in 10 years) seems pretty dark and natural to me.
Is there anything I can do to block the brassyness and KEEP it away. I do ash dyes all the time but they fade.

I would use shimmer lights from sallys to make the brassyness go away. Maybe it will work for you?

Most people will have golden undertones if their dark natural hair is bleached. I'm the same way my natural hair is black and would assume it's ashy. You can either tone your hair every month (as expected for bleached hair) using the above suggestion by Carmen. Or you can make your own for cheaper by buying a purple dye and mixing it into your conditioner leaving it for ten minutes to counteract the Orange This is what I used to do when my hair was bleached, and decided that the maintaining was too much then dyed it back to dark lll.

It's not? How did you lighten your hair? Or were you saying that your natural hair is turning goldfish red?

Toner does wonders! I have naturally strawberry blondish hair that looks wretched with my yellowy skin tone. Sally's has every type of toner you could need and there are plenty of YouTube videos that can show you how to tone hair at home/how long to leave it/ techniques to get the results you want

My hair has been bleached but it's not blonde. There's probably a hundred different dyes on this honestly lol. And I don't have a Sally's here :(

Seems like you have golden undertones in your hair, also It doesn't matter if it's not blonde it is still bleached. Mine was bleached and it wasn't blonde and it always turned brassy. I would always have to tone it with the purple conditioner at home every month. Find a beauty store and just get purple dye and mix a little bit of it into your conditioner, leave ten min and rinse.
