Hey everyone! So I'm going to NYC in two weeks (I'm so excited!!) and I've allotted myself quite the shopping budget, a lot of which will go toward makeup.

One of the things I'm looking to pick up is a highlighter. I'm pretty fair, so it can't be anything with too much gold/bronze/pink pigment in it because I end up looking like I used bronzer or blush as highlight. These are some I was looking at:

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed in Moonstone
Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in 01 Highlight
Too Faced Candlelight Powder

Are the Becca highlights really worth the hype? And I heard the Too Faced powder is pretty glittery...do any of you have it?

Obviously I'll swatch things in store before purchasing, but I'd love to hear you ladies' opinions. I always like to have an idea of what I'm getting before I actually go in store.

Which one would you pick? Or would you pick something else? I'm open to anything as long as I can buy it without having to go out of my way (at Sephora, MAC, or department stores like Bloomingdales will probably be where I'm shopping). I don't mind shimmer, but nothing glittery please!

Thanks in advance beauties 💖💋

I love Urban Decay Naked Illuminating Powder. It's not necessarily a highlighter, but it gives a gorgeous glow. I'm also very pale.

I have the Laura Mercier one and love it! It's so pretty! I also love NARS Albatross for a subtle glow. I can swatch either if you'd like :)

Thank you both! I'll definitely look into the Urban Decay one, Stephanie, since it wasn't already on my radar.

And Michelle, I'd love swatches of both! If you don't mind :)

For your complexion I think you'd like the Benefit High Beam!
That stuff is great! It's a liquid illuminator. I've tried it and liked it but just not on my complexion.
It's a pale pink with silver shimmer.
They have another called "moon beam" but I don't like it, it was a cream color but the shimmer was pink since the shimmer was pink it was kinda noticeable on me.

I liked the high beam much more till I wanted a more yellow toned high lighter

I have the Becca moonstone in my possession at the moment and it's absolutely gorgeous. a little goes a very long way and I mean just tap gently into the product and you're good to go. it's not overly gold or bronze but more vanilla (warm undertone tho). It also stays on for quite some time as well.

Of course I don't mind swatching :)
NARS is the first one and LM is the second

My iPhone camera stinks! I'm just in love with the Laura Mercier one so much. Mine's in the shade Highlight-01.

Awesome thanks everyone, and thanks for the swatches as well! I'll definitely check out some of the ones recommended, but I think I'm leaning toward the Laura Mercier :(

I like the Too Faced one a lot! I don't think it's too glittery, but I do like an intense highlight lol. If you get moonstone, post a review! I've been wanting to try it, it looks gorgeous.

Another highlighter I like is Mac mineralize skin finish in lightscapade :)

I have Laura Mercier's highlight and it's definetly my most used out of my other high light powders. It's really beautiful and wearable. The becca ones are pretty but I feel like they are way too shimmery.

Ok thanks so much for the suggestions everyone! And I'll definitely post swatches of whatever I end up getting :)

I am fair as well. I got the Josie maran power highlighter and I just love it. Only downside is that even though I'm combo oily...my cheek bones get dry so this one looked quite powdery. So I got the Becca liquid in moonstone and it's great!! I have even mixed it with my foundation.

Thanks Makeup A. I'll look at the liquid ones as well!
